I bought a Garmin Nuvi 1300 series in the US. I live in Brazil. There, I got it unblocked it and added Brazil's map. On the US it was working fine, but when I got to Brazil it didn't work at all. It worked for one time, but now it only searches for satellites it won't find.
What can/should I do to fix this problem?
You should have the need to Garmin Nuvi 1300 update with the latest version. After updating GPS Nuvi 1300 restart then you find the device is working fine.

you'll also need to get yourself a usb cable... the normal end for the computer and i believe the other end is called a mini b connector.

it sound like someone has "unticked" maps go to settings then maps and map info and look for the screen that says city navigator, and tick box that should work unless someone has attached to pc and wiped maps

I had the same problem with a 1300 unit and a car charger. After holding power button for 10 seconds it would begin to start, but get stuck while saying "Loading Maps." and then it would shut off again.
I fixed it by plugging the unit into a computer USB port. It then did it's PC connection startup as usual, which leaves a connection icon on the screen. I gave it a minute and then unplugged it from the PC. It then restarted and booted up properly.
