Your software is corrupted. If you contact Garmin they will replace it for you with a refurbished unit for less dinero than getting a new one.

If you have registered your device on the Garmin site, it will show up under your account. If the unit was bought in 2009, it would not be under warranty and any remedial fixes that may have been available are probably no longer offered 8 years later. Garmin support does do both warranty and non warranty work. You are probably better off buying a new unit,
I FOUND BLUETOOTH ON MY
In the Nuvi 1300 Bluetooth controls can be found in Tools - Settings - Bluetooth.
In this screen the Bluetooth communication mode can be switched on/off by pressing on the Bluetooth menu entry. Press Off and Save to store this setting.
Also existing (paired) connections with a cellphone can be dropped by pressing the phone menu entry and press the delete button.
How to activate the bluetooth
To activate your Bluetooth, touch Tool>>Settings>Bluetooth.
For Bluetooth connection, touch the button to pair a Bluetooth device with wireless technology or any device you want to connect with. To disconnect from other Bluetooth device, touch the drop from the screen. To wipe off the Bluetooth device you paired to your nuvi, Touch remove from the nuvi paired list, and it will delete it from the nuvis memory.
How do I get it to recognise my bluetooth phone?
Try going into tools on the main screen then select help, then select settings and then bluetooth settings this may help you get your bluetooth set up but remember not all nuvi are set up for bluetooth

Remove the power from unit while it is still on and then hold down the power button for about a minute. Reconnect to power source and see what happens. If still operating erratically then something is wrong with the electronics of the unit.
