That battery is only for the Time and Date, meaning that if the battery is dead or missing you will have to reset the date and time every time you record. When you turn off the camera the Time and Date go back to Zero!, replacing the battery will keep the time and date up to date.

My handycam works fine with a np-f550 3 hour battery. With the np-750 6 hr battery it starts out okay but then 5 minutes later the charge drops to zero... is he battery bad? It charges up fine.

np-750 ur mentioning ....n other you r using is np-f 550
ther is allot of difference in both of the model npf stands for info lithium battery ....

make sure 1 st that other one is also NPF
if yes, then your battery is faulty cells in battery has become week.

Sony camcorders has no tracking control for user.
I think video head is dirty / clogged. Put good quality video head cleaning tape in camcorder and check.
Its almost 15 years old camcorder.

How do I change internal clock battery in sony trv68 hi8 camcorde
There is an internal battery, but it is a built in and I don't believe it can be removed. However there are clear instructions in the manual on page 69 that detail the steps you should go thru to recharge the exhausted lithium battery for the date.

My camera won't play back.  Occasionally, if I ffwd it will show the picture otherwise its a blank screen.  Any ideas?  I've tried cleaning the heads a few times now
