I have a bosch nexxt 500 series washing machine . It is filling and draining st same time. What is causing this

Sounds as if the rinse hold button has been set by accident.check the switches top left.if they are correct, then next query would be logic board has a problem, sometimes fixed by hair drying the board in cases of damp lack of use washer.if machine completes most cycle then I suspect rinse hold button is on or open circuit.

The first thing to check is if the valve is open where the cold water hose hooks up to the house plumbing.

The E13 error code on your Bosch washer refer to a drainage problem or the pump time might have been exceeded
Either it might be due to a clogged pump, improper detergent being used, ( must use "HE" detergent ) hence suds not allowing a proper drain cycle. You should clean water drainage pipe and/or drain hose. Turn selector to off and restart 'drain, program or, on 500 plus machines, the 'refresh' program. It also says this is caused by using too much detergent. Bosch recommends using half of what the manufacturer recommends when using HE detergents. They don't recommend regular detergents. First run the short wash or refresh cycle without detergent and hopefully your lines will clear.

the drum may have to be removed and taken apart in order to get the necklace out.or the chain may have to be broken and the rest ran down to the drain pump for removal

I solved the problem by using a sump pump to drain most of the water, then I removed the cover plate on the lower front right of the machine to get access to the drain plug. Upon removing that, some water flowed out but not too much, I found a sock jammed in there which wasn't allowing the drain or spin cycle to work properly.

Interestingly, the machine's manual says that the cover plate is only to be removed by a Bosch authorized service repair representative. Saved about $150 by simply doing this myself.

Not alwys fill valve fault.. make sure not draining back from sink back into mach,,if yes put drain hose higher to cure...

Almost all Bosch machines have a manual drain trap that usually can be accessed from a small door in the front panel. Open the door and you will see the trap access.

during a normal wash cycle the washer stopped and gave an e;4 error code

could be drain hose is not high enough. I had the same problem and when I raised the hose it worked fine.

possibly the motor brushes.
take back panel off. disconnect motor. remove bolts holding motor in and take out motor. check condition of brushes
