My kenmore elite dryer that i bought 2 years ago lint trap corner is catching my clothes and tearing them. we had it replaced and its doing it again. I am tired of messing with it. Please help.

don't know if you already had this fixed, usually this is caused by not having your dryer cleaned out,the lint builds up inside the duct that the lint filter slides down into and has to be removed and cleaned out.also in some of the kenmore dryer ducts there's a metal clip inside the duct that can come loose and hold the lint filter up.these are the two most likely causes for this to happen.

DRYER GENERAL ELECTRIC SUPER CAPACITY. APPARENTLY IT IS WORKING BECAUSE IT HEAT BUT THE CLOTHES ARE WET

Hello,

A leading cause of poor drying results in that type of dryer is lint build up in the blower/lint filter housing. That build up will restrict air flow through the dryer causing very long dry times. To repair that the front panel would need to be removed and clean all the lint build up from that housing and blower wheel area.

To remove the front panel DISCONNECT POWER TO THE DRYER, on the bottom of the dryer inside of the door rim will be 2 phillips headed screws, remove those and lift off the top. At the top corners where the front panel connects to the cabinet will be 2 more phillips headed screws remove those and the front panel will pull off and out of the way. With the front panel off the blower housing will be in the lower left side clean lint from it and also the sure to clean all the lint from the lint filter housing which will be attached to the back side of the front panel. In addation to cleaning that area be sure to check and clean the exhaust duct tube as well.

Clean Dryer Lint Vent in Kenmore elite HE4

If you wish to clean the interior cabinet of the dryer follow these steps:

1. UNPLUG the dryer. Dangerous voltages are still present even with the dryer turned off.

2. Open the dryer door and remove the lint screen. IMPORTANT: You must remove the lint screen first in order to remove the blower fan housing.

3. Remove the lower toe panel directly below the dryer door by removing the screws under the bottom front edge of the panel. With the screws removed, the panel will drop down, then come off. NOTE: For better access, you can prop the front feet of the dryer up (a 2x4 works well).

4. Loosen the screws on the blower fan housing directly below the drum and remove. There's usually a small clip holding the cover in at the bottom that you may need to pull out to release. NOTE: You may also have to disconnect the auto dry sensor plug (yellow wires with white plug - use a small screwdriver to release the locking tabs) and/or ground wire to accommodate removal of the cover.

You should now have access to the dryer interior and the blower fan squirrel cage motor. Take the time to clean out the blower fan housing cover as well. A long bristle brush made for dryers works well at removing any lint inside the dryer in the hard to reach places, followed by vacuuming.

NOTE: After cleaning, you may experience a slight burning odor. This is normal as lint gets stirred up in the cleaning process and can settle on the heating components. The odor should dissipate after a short period of use.

If you have any questions, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

Remove lint holder on ge front loader dryer

I have the exact same problem. I am amazed at had been the engineering is for such a simple process. The user guide just says to clean the lint filter. Even when doing so, there is still an excessive build up of lint beyond reach. There are no instructions that mention how to clean this part. It is obvious that GE did not test this part of the machine.

ROPER DRYER WILL NOT HEAT

Put the back panel back, and hope you havent done permanent damage
the back does not come off roper dryers for service
the front does
the back panel serves solely as a mounting point for important fixtures
there is no reset button
there are thermal fuses, if the thermal fuse, mounted on the exhaust duct or fan housing has failed, it must be replaced, but they are not expensive
look like this de074eb.jpgbcb6b5f.jpg to access the dryer mechanism

unplug dryer
remove lint filter
remove 2 screws under lint filter
with putty knife or other blunt blade, depress spring catches at front corners of top cover
raise front cover
remove 1 screw each side of front panel 1/3 from top
remove door switch wires
remove front panel set aside
test all thermostats heater and thermal fuse with ohmmeter, remove 1 wire test for conduct replace wire, no conduct replace
the local parts store will have the part, labelled whirlpool, ~$14 for thermal fuse, ~$40 if heater

examine rear panel reinstall any thing that is dismounted
while the dryer is open
Clean the lint out of fan, fan housing, ducts
airflow blockage is the 99% cause of thermal fuse blowing, some lint always gets past the lint screen

Noisy dryer Kenmore Elite 70892 (gas-LP)..

OK, Kenmore,.... I don't work on many of them, but,....
Disconnect power. You have to lift the top to gain access to the screws near the top which hold the front panel to the sides. If it has a top lint filter, you will most likely have to remove the screws holding that to the top, then use a putty knife to release the spring clips at the top of the front panel. Sounds like the blower wheel is spinning freely on the motor shaft, requiring replacement of blower wheel.

Kenmore dryer help?

Sounds like motor is stalled. Remove the lint filter, look inside down toward the bottom left corner at the blower wheel. Something may be jammed in the blower wheel. If difficult to see, TURN OFF POWER TO MACHINE, remove bottom access panel. 2 to 3 screws on bottom of panel. Remove lint housing (3 to 4 screws) and inspect blower wheel for debris.
