Frigidaire FGQ1442ES dryer random flashing lights (not error code)
My mom's Frigidaire FGQ1442ES gas dryer is acting up. It works fine, but when not in use the control panel lights start flashing irregularly-- not regular flashing like it's trying to show an error code, but random irregular flashes. She keeps it unplugged for now, but once plugged back in it will start flashing after awhile (sometimes not for an hour). Suggestions? Bad control board?

Hi Brian - I understand that your dryer lights are turning on when not being in use. Try resetting the unit by either unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. Wait approximately two minutes and turn on the dryer. Select a normal cycle and verify if the lights continue to flash. If the issue persists, then it could possibly be a communication error with the main control board, or a potential wiring failure or faulty door lock assembly. I would recommend contacting a qualified service technician to further assist you in diagnosing this issue.
Hi,
If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heatingthe most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glowssometimes it is still not working properly.
if you dryer is gas check out this gas no heat tip....
If you have an electric dryer, you can have many differentthings that can go wrong causing the dryer not to heat.

Most common cause is the coil packs (usually in sets of two). They usually are located in the lower left hand corner of the dryer and provide the spark to ignite the gas. If the coils are fine, then the igniter assembly needs replacing. Best of luck. Greg
