Sawyer slide projector blew house fuse when plugged in. Now fan works but no lamp. Tried changing bulb but still doesn't work. Anything else I can check?

Sounds like a short (internal fuse maybe) to me. If you can confirm that the lamp is intact and should function, then it has to be something between the lamp and the power source. Assuming everything else works properly.

EP1691 black spot, no bulb

How big is the spot? is it always in the same spot? it seems that you have dust in front of the LCD.

The bulb doesn't seem very bright

As bulbs age, especially projector bulbs which get very hot, they produce less light. That is normal. Change it if is not satisfactory, and, while you are at it, polish the mirrored surfaces and the lens with appropriate cloths!

JVC DLA-RS1U Projector turns off

I have a similar problem. JVC Project (DLA-RS1) shuts off after about 30 min to 1 hour of use. Everything turns off - bulb, fan, even the little light on the projector near the buttons. After 10-15 min the red light comes back on and you can start the projector.

I have seen this happen when I had installed a knock-off bulb. I believe the bulb runs a little hotter and the projector over heats. Now I am seeing it happen even with a JVC bulb.

I am in the process of taking the cover off the projector to see if anything is blocking the air flow (like a piece of broken bulb, which did break a while back). If a problem doesn't show up there I am going to check the fan to see if it is turning at full speed (maybe replace with a beefier fan?).

Does anyone have instruction on dis-assembly?

Got projector out after several years of non use. Lamp would not light. We purchased a new bulb and installed it. Still doesn't work. Fan runs and all, but bulb will not light.

Check the internal power and lamp fuse. Sometimes, when a projector is stored, an area of corrosion develops around the lamp pins and lamp holder. If you carefully clean both the holder and the pins on the original lamp you may find it works OK!

Bulb won't work

If you are sure that you installed the new bulb correctly , then I recommend that you reset your projector . Some projectors don't realize that you changed the bulb physically until you reset them .
