There is a large, round twist button on the LEFT side of the display screen. Twist this to adjust the volume, usually Clockwise for louder and Counter clockwise for quieter.
Try this web link for the user manual.

Testimonial: "Hi Simon, I Appreciate the Trouble you've gone to, but the manual you've sent me is not for the same radio. I happen to have the file downloaded for the SONY CDX-3100 (E,S,C)3-856-896-21(1) The Manual you sent was for a different SONY 45423032M.pdf. Thank You, Lionel"

    No problem. There are many versions of those radios. Could you attach a photo of the radio front? If there is no Round control it is most likely a square or rectangular ‘rocker’ button. It will probably be a larger button on the lower left side of the face plate. Look for a button with a ‘+’ and a ‘-‘ marked on it. Some versions might have ‘Vol’ marked on it. Something like the attached image. It may not be your radio but the round twister and the rocker switches are the most common volume controls.

SOURCE: Sony cdx-M8800 car stereo buttons wont work

There is a ribbon cable that runs all the flip panels electrics, these are prone to breakage.
I have seen some of the cables on e-bay for a few quid, and also if you google "sony x-pod ribbon cable" you will get a big choice of places to order, and get instructions on fitting.

Sony CDX-5005 factory installed in a Bryant boat... no out put in any mode to speakers. What replacement unit will fit and hook up to existing harness?

Any DIN style radio will fit onto the existing cut out.
Stay with Sony CDX family. The connect and color code will be the same.
=====
Do you still has the remote control for this Sony CDX-C5005?
This remote has an "ATT" (almost like mute) //// lower left hand button.
Aim the remote to the radio and press the ATT button and see is the volume restore to normal.

Don't know how to change the clock

Hold the volume button in for a few seconds, this will activate the set up screen where the clock, scrolling info, auto-dim controls, etc are controlled from. When done, hold the volume in a few seconds again to return to normal.

Need to fix the time

I have the the sony cdx gt 400 and the manual is of no help but I figured it out. You have two options...option 1 is wait until 1 o'clock and hit the small reset button on the radio behind your detachable face, or option 2 is a even better option. Press and hold the volume button in and options will appear...then by tapping the volume button you will cycle through the various options until you find "clock adjust" then press the small "display" button below the volume knob and also right next to the "source" button...the hour will flash turn the volume knob to desired hour then tap the volume knob or display button and the minutes will flash then turn the volume knob to the desired minutes, and you are done...hopefully this helps
