Can i hook up a mp3 to the back of a sony

No, but you can hook it to the aux port on the front. It will not control the player, but it will play the music you select on the player.

I need release keys for

You can get the release keys on the link below.

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_26549_Connects2+CT22SO02.html

If you do not want to buy them you might be able to go to your local car stero installer and ask them if they have the keys to remove the radio that you can barrow for an hour or 2

Good Luck please rate 4 thumbs up and please leave a testimonial.

Disc can eject and be inserted but display does

It sounds like they messed up your installation. You can confirm their work by verifying that each wire was attached properly.

2005 Pontiac Sunfire Car Radio Wiring Diagram Car Radio Battery Constant 12v+ Wire: Orange
Car Radio Accessory Switched 12v+ Wire: Yellow
Car Radio Ground Wire: Black
Car Radio Illumination Wire: Gray
Car Stereo Dimmer Wire: Brown
Car Stereo Antenna Trigger Wire: Pink
Car Stereo Amp Trigger Wire: Pink
Left Front Speaker Positive Wire (+): Tan
Left Front Speaker Negative Wire (-): Gray
Right Front Speaker Positive Wire (+): Light Green
Right Front Speaker Negative Wire (-): Dark Green
Left Rear Speaker Positive Wire (+): Brown
Left Rear Speaker Negative Wire (-): Yellow
Right Rear Speaker Positive Wire (+): Dark Blue
Right Rear Speaker Negative Wire (-): Light Blue

Click on this link for a PDF of the installation instructions of the radio (If you don't have the installation guide that came with the radio).

Illumination is the grey wire from the car to the orange with white stripe from the radio.

I suspect that the yellow wire from the car is not connected properly. When the orange wire (constant power from the car) is attached, but not the yellow wire you can insert and eject cds, but it will not turn on. Constant power is used for maintaining the clock and preset radio stations.

If everything looks correct, I would take your car back to the installer and have them correct the issue.

Need to fix the time

I have the the sony cdx gt 400 and the manual is of no help but I figured it out. You have two options...option 1 is wait until 1 o'clock and hit the small reset button on the radio behind your detachable face, or option 2 is a even better option. Press and hold the volume button in and options will appear...then by tapping the volume button you will cycle through the various options until you find "clock adjust" then press the small "display" button below the volume knob and also right next to the "source" button...the hour will flash turn the volume knob to desired hour then tap the volume knob or display button and the minutes will flash then turn the volume knob to the desired minutes, and you are done...hopefully this helps
