Do you have a mini Ipad ? Anyways to back up your device you should go in settings first to check if you granted the permission to back up your device.
once there each time your device will be charging and on wifi mode it will be an automatic operation and you will never loose anything.
other then that you can also attach your device on any computer but it is a bit more complicated because you need to download first itunes then by a USB cable you will be able to perform an immediate backup clicking on a back up butyon in the itunes app.

Older iOS did not have the photo delete function. You would need to connect to iTunes to delete or remove unwanted photos.

you have to restore the phone (which will remove the jailbreak) , update the phone, then re jailbreak it

sure you can unlock it try remote Unlock service....

Sounds like a firmware issue to me, so I would think updating the firmware should help. If not, virginizing it may, but since I haven't encountered this problem, I really can't say for sure.
