SOURCE: How to Change light bulb (yes, really...)

If yours is the same as the model 04890 that I looked up on the net, you will unscrew the center nut of the light fixture being carefull to not let the fixture drop to the floor. Once you have the center piece off you will be able to unscrew the bulbs and install new ones. Be carefull and be sure power is off before you do this.

SOURCE: Hampton Bay Ceiling Fan Windward II

There is a 4 position (dip) switch on both the fan housing and the remote. Make sure these switches are set exactly the same and the remote will control the light and fan separately. If not, the remote may be getting interference on the preset frequency - try CHANGING the dip switches to a different setting and the remote should work.

I found the solution on the web. The only place it looks like that has this adapter is voss lighting. Here is a link to the adapter. http://www.vosslighting.com/storefrontB2BWEB/itemdetail.do?action=prepare_detail&itm_id=18159&itm_index=7

Remote does not work. Have relaced remote and receiver. Fan and light turn on and off at any time by themself!!

Change the frequency settings. Your neighbor's fan is probably on the same setting you have now. If you didn't have problems before you put in the new receiver, change to original settings.

In my Hampton Bays ceiling fan is a circular fluorescent bulb which gives very poor light. Is it possible to put in a different lighting system like hallogen?

Yws it is possible.Check on the fan before changing anything, there should be a maximum wattage sticker. Do not go any bringter than the max, it is there for a reason. If your plans are to install incondesent light system, be aware. that, bulb puts out much more heat,

Remote

If the fan is not responding to the remote. Then it is the controller inside the fan. To order a replacement part contact "King of Fans" who owns the warrenty for Hampton Bay. The number is 800.749.3267 for about 43.00. Hope this helps.

Fan works but no light

Your receiver is shot and must be replaced. This is a small black or grey box two inches by four located under the cieling mount cover.
