Verify there is power to the electrical outlet. Make sure that a GFCI breaker has not tripped. Try unplugging it from the electrical outlet for about 5 minutes and plug it back in. Does this computer have a soft touch control panel? With the power disconnected remove the inner panel to reach the control panel board. Inspect the ribbon connector and make sure that the connector is fully inserted and has not slipped out. Check the ribbon connector for any signs of a short. My dishwaher was doing the same thing and it turned out the control panel ribbon connector had shorted across causing it not to work. If the contol panel tests good then lt could be a fuse located somewhere on the dishwasher or the computer board.

Dishwasher won t turn off
As long as you have wired up correctly, your new board is faulty.
If you mean wont power down, as in the lights on the front wont turn off, these lights and the power switch itself are all part of the board.
Take it back for a warranty swap. Occasionally there is the odd faulty new part, there has be some unfortunate person to get them.

My kenmore dishwasher wont start at all now. It used to start if you pushed certain buttons a bunch of times but now the lights next to most of the buttons light up but it wont start a cycle. any ideas?

Ensure that the dishwasher is connected to a working power supply. Check the local fuse or circuit breaker and restart as necessary.

Open and shut the door firmly until it latches into place. The dishwasher will not function if the door is not latched into position.

Select the desired cycle and press the cycle button firmly, as you must choose a cycle in order for the dishwasher to begin operation.

Look at the water valve that is connected to the dishwasher and ensure it is turned on.

Turn off the dishwasher and unplug it from the power supply to reset the unit. Plug it back in and select a new cycle. Select "Start." If the dishwasher still does not start, contact an authorized service technician.

DDW1802W ran fine yesterday. Panel light os, no start. Door seems to latch okay. It's not an overflow switch issue. No burnt smell.

Make sure there's power getting to the dishwasher. Check for a tripped circuit breaker or a blown fuse. Check the wall socket for power. Sometimes the power cord disconnects at the dishwasher (inside the junction box, behind the bottom kick panel), if this is the case, the wiring must be repaired or replaced

Now, if you have confirmed that the unit is receiving power from the outlet, and the unit is still not responding, this will lead to a failed control board, or timer module. replace either the timer, or control board, in this case.

DISHWASHER WONT POWER UP
HI, there are four problem spots that i recommend checking. these are the most common hot spots for a non responsive dishwasher. Check each area thoroughly to address this issue.


1. No power to the dishwasher
Make sure there's power getting to the dishwasher. Check for a tripped circuit breaker or a blown fuse. Check the wall socket for power. Sometimes the power cord disconnects at the dishwasher (inside the junction box, behind the bottom kick panel), if this is the case, the wiring must be repaired or replaced.

2. Door switch
Replace if defective.

3. Timer
Replace if defective (note: uncommon problem).

4. Selector switch
Replace if defective (note: uncommon problem).

Wont go through cycles or drain the 3inches of water.Is getting power
turn on the dishwasher then go to your circuit breaker and, switch off the power to your dishwasher next: reach in to your dishwasher and remove the cover on your pump then remove any broken glass etc. that has fallen into the pump then put the cover back on and, close the dishwasher turn it on and, turn on the breaker you turned off earlier your machine should work again let me know how it goes...

Dishwasher not starting cycle
a dishwasher has a timer similar to a dryer you need a schematic so you can check the voltages at the heat cycle some times the timer goes out, and rarely the heating element or pump goes out. and make sure when you press start power travels through the button.
