Automatic Transmission is not working in any of the gears.

2004 Ford focus ZTS with automatic transmission. Was stopped at stop sign and when I tried to drive off, the car acted like it was in neutral and wouldn't move forward. Acts like a transmission went out but sounded more like a belt or something similar came off. 66000 miles on car. No problems or prior symptons.

Check fluid level first, sounds like it is low. Follow owner manual procedure to check when fluid is warm.

Have you checked the Transmission fluid? This is sometimes a cause of such trouble.

2005 ford focus transmission want pull

Chances are you have a costly one.
My 2004 automatic lost its top range, and I had to drive to a transmission shop in a lower gear. It would have cost about half the price of a rebuilt transmission to fix the immediate problem, so I opted for the replacement with full warranty.

In any event, if it is an automatic, don't attempt to repair it yourself.

2010 ford focus automatic trsnsmission makes rubbing noise when accelerating from acomplete stop . noise continues until 2nd gear engages. from then on all is fine. reverse sometimes doesnt engage, ma

A carrier bearing usually pertains to the differential assembly and would not cause the symptom you describe. There is a problem with this transmission that causes it to not drop completely to first gear after a period of driving. Ford is aware of it but I do not believe they have initiated a recall. Call your Ford dealer(s) to see if you can find an honest man. Ask for the service manager.

Can not shift to reverse/park

Transmission is probably out or on the verge of going out. Or if it is an automatic and the shifter lever itself is hard to move first check transmission and then check gears and components inside steering column.

Ford Focus 2002: won't go into gear.. any gear

automatic transmissions can break down over time. my focus had its transmission replaced once about 3 years ago and at that time my boss owned it and had it replaced for at least 4 digits 2000-3000$.

Manual transmissions last a bit longer[ not much ] and are lighter an easy to repair, but a shop will charge the same for the parts.

automatic are heavy and a little more complex

if you have a friend who is good with cars im sure you can save a lot more money

but make sure you have transmission fluid. look for a yellow cap [ sometimes its different colors] that should be to the right or left mid section and remove the cap and make sure its the transmission fluid cap and check to see if its low. try refilling but check for leaking so you dont waste it

your trans might be leaking so check to see if a red fluid it dripping from under your car, that may be the problem and the transmission may need to be replaced
