Monitor screen appears yellowish

Try it another PC to be sure it is not video card problem, check all the pins of the video cable..

It is not a driver or video card problem. It is the monitor.

To be sure plug a full size desktop monitor into your laptops monitor jack. Every laptop has one. If the picture doesn't turn yellow that will confirm that your LCD is bad.

Once you press the menu button which is on the monitor if you get menu button then try giving reset or restore factory settings in it.

This solves your problem if your RGB colour settings is not configured correctly.

If your problem still persists then there will be problem in the monitor .
As you have mentioned (YOU HAD IT FOR A WHILE) in your problem if you have manufacture warranty then make use of it.

There is no problem with your CPU,motherboard and any other hardware part except the monitor.

Your power settings may need to be changed, it appears to be going into sleep mode or power saving mode.

If you are using Vista, Click Start> Control Panel > Power Options > "choose when to turn off display" (in the left hand pane) and check that it says at least 10 minutes. Click apply and then ok.

Alternatively, right click on your desktop, select "personalise" and click on screen saver - then select "change power settings" to bring you to the same thing.

If you have xp, right click on your desktop and select "properties" then "screensaver| > "Power" and change it to turn off the monitor after 10 minutes. Click apply then ok.

If your monitor is going to sleep, either press a key or wiggle the mouse to wake it up.

Your internal back-up battery is empty, please replace the internal battery and date will apear.

Check all cords and cables from PC to monitor. Also make sure the graphics card is properly seated into its slot in the motherboard. That is how I would start. If this doesn't help it might be the graphics card or monitor. Need more info.

To solve the problem on my monitor i did a thorough inspection on the pcb which is fixed on the tube and i solder components which looked suspicious for dry joints.

display without cpu if display appears then monitor ok fault is in cpu if not then fault is in monitor move signal cable and look display changes or not if changes then cable faulty replace it

can you hook it to an external monitor if so then boot in with the external monitor ans see if the screen apears with operating system then look for the monitor icon on the laptop if found then press the fn+the monitor key together and see if this swaps back to laptop lcd but if you have not got the option of uotput to a second monitor then get it repaired

your problem is in blue color cathode circuit. as you say that it becomes ok tha5t means 1 cable wire is loose from computer to monitor. 2 crt base loose. 3 loose contact in blue video ckt. 4 signal processor cable to crt board connector loose.(blue wire)
