My LG Flatron screen is stuck in "Power Saving Mode", any fixes Ive seen need to be done on desktop properties, but I obviousley cannot access anything as my screen is not coming on.
Hi, September 2008 and still problems happening with the LG screens. Mine is a Flatron W1942T.
I hit the screen as suggested (my old mum was a great believer in " if it won't work kick it", this applied to anything electrical, tele, vacuum cleaner etc.,) and guess what? my old mum was right. The screen came on.
Hope this works if it happens again. I'd turned everything off because of an electrical/thunder storm. Won't do that again.

Well thats seems tricky does it not come on at all when you boot the computer. If the screen is working then it should work to display the Start up screen. If it does then keep pressing Delete until the BIOS comes up- then search the pages for power saving and slect to OFF

If the screen is not coming on at all then this is not a power saving fault[by that I assume you mean the screen us playing that symbol which is a built in thing not from the computer, have you tried all the screen controls?] but a data transfer problem.
That is a Problem at the computer.
It could be the Data cable for fixed in fully at either end.
Data cable faulty - check for bent pins.
Or graphics problem
Does the computer have on board graphics or a AGP/PCI graphics card?
If it is the latter then make sure it is fully seated in the slot.
If it is on board graphics then you do have a problem because I think there is no repair option here.
you have to get an image to screen before you can try any workarounds so try
Data cable/Graphics card options first.

When it have this kind of error is a problem of the powerboard.
Anyway you must open it and look at the all capacitors and if are them inflated, if them are inflated must change them.
But can be a problem with inverters... control the transistors - MOSFET on the powerboard.
Good luck!

I had a similar problem with the Flatron L1730s monitor. It would only display ANYTHING if it were hit hard at the top screen frame with the hand. This I thought could be a Dry Solder joint on the circuit board. No luck with LG cust' support at all. SO,,,,, I dismantled it and found that the actual display was made by... PHILIPS electronics and the multipin plug that connects this display to the internal circuitry is held in place by....WAIT for it..... A piece of yellow insulating tape. Upon re-fitting the multipin plug tightly and securing with Duct Tape (No other way to secure it) it now works fine. Sooooo LG... Go back to your designers drawing board.

Stuck in Power Save mode. It'll turn on for like literally 2 - 3 seconds and then turn off again. I've tried plugging the computer into other screens and it worked on them so i know it's the monitor. It's my work computer which has everything I need on it and I don't have access to another monitor. Any solutions??
My LG Flatron L192WS is putting itself into power save mode. If power down and turn it back on the screen comes up for literally about 2 - 3 seconds. I've tried plugging in the computer to other monitors and it worked on them so I know the problem is coming from the screen itself. If any one knows how to fix my problem that would be incredible. It is my work computer and I don't have access to another monitor unless I were to buy one (Not gonna happen).
my problem is board of power supply? where do i find a repair shop in quezon city?
