Flashing power LED

Hi. I tried to update firmware on my siemens se361 wlan router, and ended up with a flashing power on the LED display. And now nothing is working. I tried reseting and different stuff but it's still flashing.
I hope someone maybe can help me please.

If the download completed OK sometimes just recycling power will b enough.

Remember to try the default settings... (I.E. need to reprogram your new settings)

IF the system died during a download you may have permanently corrupted the microcode...

Call the vendor to confirm...

WHAT LIGHTS ON LINKSYS ARE SUPPOSED TO BE BLINKING

Note that incoming traffic will cause the WAN (or Internet) light to blink even if it is 'probe' traffic trying to break in to your network. Such traffic is to be expected and is the reason you have firewall functionality in your gateway router.

On the inside, there is a bit of traffic on any LAN when the computers are turned on. Messages generated by the router itself are used to find computers and printers for a lot of different legitimate reasons.

Router not turning on

It may be the AC jack has been damaged due to pulling on the power cable, wiggle the plug while in the device. Try to reset the device to default settings. After a firmware update the setup CD may not work, go online to reconfigure.

No wireless connection for laptop. Linksys router - model #wrt160n v2

you can run a direct line to that router and go to the cisco web site and get the information you need to run that router. its a pdf format and is 2.56 Meg. Try this

SecureEasySetup (Orange/White) The Cisco logo is the Router's SecureEasySetup button. It

lights up and will stay orange when the Router is powered on. The color orange indicates that

the Router is not using the SecureEasySetup feature, while the color white indicates that the

Router is using the SecureEasySetup feature. When the Router enters SecureEasySetup

mode, the Cisco logo will turn white and start flashing. After the Router has generated

the SSID and WPA Personal key, the Cisco logo will stop flashing and stay white.

To clear the SSID and WPA Personal key, press and hold down the Cisco logo for five seconds.

The Cisco logo will flash slowly as the Router resets itself. The Cisco logo will turn orange to

indicate a successful reset.NOTE: SecureEasySetup is a feature that makes

it easy to set up your wireless network. If you have SecureEasySetup devices, run the Router's

Setup Wizard CD-ROM and follow the onscreen instructions to use SecureEasySetup.

Power (Green) The Power LED lights up and will stay on while the Router is powered

on. When the Router goes through its selfdiagnostic mode during every boot-up, this

LED will flash. When the diagnostic is complete, the LED will be solidly lit.

DMZ (Green) The DMZ LED indicates when the DMZ function is being used. This LED will

remain lit as long as DMZ is enabled. WLAN (Green) The WLAN LED lights up when

the wireless feature is enabled. If the LED is flashing, the Router is actively sending or

receiving data over the network. 1, 2, 3, 4 (Green) These numbered LEDs, corresponding with the numbered ports on the Router's back panel, serve two purposes. If the LED is continuously lit, the Router is successfully connected to a device through that port. A flashing LED indicates network activity over that port.

Internet (Green) The Internet LED lights up when there is a connection made through the

Internet port. A flashing LED indicates network activity over the Internet port.

Good luck

LAN led light alway on and flashing

Reset the router:
While the router is powered on press and hold the reset button for 5-10 sec. Release the button and wait until the router boots up (1 min).

If this does not work then you can try this

Try setting it into recovery mode and loading firmware:

Unplug power cable from the router and press the reset button. While holding the reset button plug the power cable in. Continue holding the reset button untill you will see LEDs on the router flashing rapidly.

You should be able to log into the router - you will see a prompt to load firmware. The firmware is available on our WEB site: http://www.dlink.com.au/tech/

Note - suggest you d/l the firmware BEFORE you reset router

No power led, wlan led blinking

well, what you could try is unplugging the power source from the cable modem, and the router. wait about 1 minute. then plug everything back in and wait.

i remember having this problem as well, but i think the problem with me was that my wireless computer was too far away from the wireless router, not saying that your too far or not, but that what i had, so i just pitched the wireless adapter, and created an ethernet connection. just sharing my experience.

Zoom X6 wireless router

Hi, With or without the firmware update, the wireless should work and be indicated with the WLAN led. Have you done an update? Have you tried a hard reset? Most routers would require a reset to default after a firmware update. Pls be reminded that when you do a hard reset, all configuration would be lost, better log them down or do a backup. Alternately, you can check your router's web based configuration manager, apparently, there is an enable/disable feature/selection for the WLAN. Verify that is set to enable. Hope this be of help/idea. Post back how things turned out or should you need additional information. Good luck and kind regards.

Green Power light flashing

Hi, Have you tried a hard reset? Your model has a small reset button at the rear between the Internet/WAN connection and one of the antennas (Press for 10 seconds +). Also flashing power led is an indicator of firmware problem which might have been caused by a failed firmware upgrade/update. Instruction on how to correct this problem is also included in the firmware upgrade/update. A more detailed instruction is in the User Manual. With regards to firmware update/upgrade , pls be reminded that firmware is very version specific. To locate the version number, you have to look underneath the unit and download the appropriate firmware from LinkSys website. (http://www.linksys.com/servlet/Satellite?c=L_CASupport_C2&childpagename=US%2FLayout&cid=1166859878881&packedargs=sku%3D1115416826220&pagename=Linksys%2FCommon%2FVisitorWrapper&lid=7888126220B03&displaypage=download) The download is a zip file which you have to extract to a folder. The .bin file plus instructions as well as specific instructions on how to make the power led stop flashing. Hope this works out for you. Pls post again how things turn up. Good luck and kind regards.

My 3com officeconnect doesn't work after upgrding the firmware

Are you able to login to the router? If you can reset the router to factory defaults..If you can't login to the router...Is there an external reset button on the router you could try to reset. with a paperclip? Otherwise, I had this happen on a linksys router/switch. New router time. You should just return it where you purchased the product. There was already something seemingly going wrong if it was rebooting. 3 weeks? just return it. don't even mention the firmware update. Here is the site info for 3com: http://knowledgebase.3com.com/ OfficeConnect - Firmware upgrade fails with incorrect user interface image Problem: Incorrect user interface image Problem: Firmware upgrade fails Problem: Error when upgrading firmware Problem: Incorrect firmware Problem: Wrong firmware Fact: Firmware Fact: Download Fact: Update Fact: Upgrade Cause: The downloaded .exe has not been extracted Fix: The downloaded .exe needs to be extracted by double clicking on it. When performing the firmware update use the extracted files that were obtained from the "exe" file. e.g You will obtain a "bin" or "dlf" type of file which is the firmware required for your upgrade. Let me know what happens. Good Luck, Tim
