I have an Eclipse 180 8gb mp3 player that won't turn on unless plugged into something. The battery is not dead.

While plugged in just after the loading screen I get a message saying the Eclipse is at full battery, but the second the Eclipse is unplugged it shuts off. Would love some help.

3- find the solution for this question :Q: When I turn on my player it says 'Error, connect to PC and use Device Manager to repair'., and click on link

SOURCE: Blue Hat toy company mp3 player won't turn on

This solution may not make you any happier, but I had the same problem. The issue is that the batteries are not sending power to the player. Before reading any further, check that the batteries are installed correctly. Anywhere there's a spring in the battery box, the negative end of the battery should be touching the spring (negative is the flat end of the battery, not the end with the bump).

If that doesn't help, what I did was to take apart the toy. Yes, this voids warranties, but I'm not willing to spend time chasing down this company for warranty service when I didn't keep my receipt. The small rubber circles on the back of the player cover the screw holes. Just get something under them and pry up until you have uncovered all 9 screws. Carefully open the case. Inspect the wires that go from the battery case to the circuit board, and from the circuit board to the on/off switch. One of these wires has probably come off because it was badly soldered. Either that, or a wire was pinched until it broke inside the insulation. You can usually see where a wire was pinched. Have someone who knows how to solder replace the suspect wires. Once I did this, my player started working again, and now I know the solder joints will all hold for the life of the device!

*WARNING! Only disconnect and reconnect one wire at a time. If you get wires reversed, not only can you break the device, but the wires the company originally used are too thin and can overheat and melt, potentially causing a fire. This is also a reason to be sure the batteries are removed when soldering...

SOURCE: Battery on Sony Walkman NWZ-E436F

ok, just tried something with maybe a solution....

I was connected via an usb hub to my laptop, then it said battery is full, it apparently didn't charge.

When i connect my usb cable directly to my laptop it started to charge again!!.

My usb hub is not connected to a adapter so all power comes from the USB port, this may be not strong enough to charge your walkman.

Try this (so directly connect to your desk / laptop) it may work!

SOURCE: eclipse mp3 player says "no file"

I had the same problem. I think most files that itunes uses are in a .m4a format. The eclipse mp3 player will need all the music files in an .mp3 format. The eclipse actually has a "software" folder that includes the "replay converter" that will convert these files for you - or you can download any number of freeware that will convert the files as well. Once I converted those files, my eclipse played everything. Prior to that - even though I had synced everything with my Windows Media player, I was getting the "No Files" message. Good Luck!

Why won't my eclipse 180g2 charge?

Probably battery is dead. It is an internal battery and no way to change it so you lost your mp3 player and your money. Get a new onw, but not an Eclipse

Wont come on without the charger cable

Sounds like you have a dead battery problem. Unless I'm mistaken, these have internal lithium ion batteries that you can't change without taking the unit apart. You might have to take it in to have it serviced.

Wont turn on unless its on charge

you can try to see if there is a bug fix for it go online put the manufacturs name and the model # of your player in the search bar if there is a fix for it their web page will tell you how to install it.if not? it sounds like th battery could actually be dying..just because the icon shows it at full charge doesn't actually mean that it is..the only way to know that for sure would be to have the battery tested but that would req taking the player apart and that's not a job for beginners..my advice? back up all of your tunes and buy a new one..your best/cheapest bet

I just bought the eclipse cld and it won't turn on after charging for hours

If the rechargeable battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles and will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% and gradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR The battery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the battery drops off to zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to an unacceptable charge level then the battery needs to be replaced. Rechargeable batteries will fail if stored in a discharged state for long periods.

Try this. Turn your computer off. Plug in the mp3 via usb port with player in the on postion. Turn the computer back on. You should a large green battery symbol on the screen flashing left to right. Took me about 3 days of finally fiqure it out. Also try different USB ports if you have more than one. Good Luck
