No sound from my TV!! HELP!!

The sound on the system works - am able to play music from the radio and CD player. However, cannot get sound in from my television. The input jack works because I tested it by playing a CD in my DVD player. I also tried hooking up directly to my cable box and that doesn't work either. ANy thoughts?

Assume its a bose system 12 (non digital or digital ?)
if you clarify the model of both tv and bose system i will tell you precisely how to connect tv to bose system,

but i must assume first that your cable box is connected to your tv via a scart cable , you must remove sound function from the cable and plug directly into cd5 unit on either auxillary or video input , then turn cd5 unit to that channel to play sound and use bose reomte to control volume (ok)
i would doubt thatthe TV has a audio output, many dont.... also it may be necessary to buy a scart to RCA cable at your local electronics shop or supermarket to completet he task at hand.

if however you are digital.....
make sure you are connectiong bose digital input to a digital (dolby 5.1 compatible) sound source.

sorry if you think i have over simplified the problem !

respect

Everything works fine when i play a cd it works it reads it but dont hear the music when i turn to radio i hear the music, just wondering what could be wrong help me out thanks..

First off how long have you owned the unit? Did you buy it new? Did it ever work playing cd's? it sounds like either a setting problem or a hardware problem with the unit. Once I have more information I can assist you further in trying to isolate the problem.
Thank you,

Phillips plasma tv - how to darken dislay while cable radio or music cd is playing?

The only thing you can do is unplug your video out lead from your dvd /cd player while playing it, also check your menu on your sony to see if it has a blank raster setting to activate. Second, why would you want to listen to a cd thru your tv, unless you don't have a stereo or surround sound system to play it on, of which I would definately have anyway. Hope this helps...

Help w/ Bose Lifestyle 12 system

Does your TV have a pre-out double RCA panel connector? Some TV´s have to be told which output to use for speakers. (Additional or within..) Check settings on the TV, and possible other RCA connectors, check the in/out symbols (should say output), and try again.. If you are sure the RCA´s on the system works, the problem would have to be the TV/settings or maybe the cable..

No sound with discs playing

There should be some sort of outboard amplifier. Mine had an amp at each speaker, and also a receiver mounted behind the passenger seat. Could it be that the power antenna lead from your headunit is connected to the amp turn-on lead? That way, when the radio is playing, the antenna lead is powered and thus the amps are too, whereas when the CD is playing, the antenna lead would not be powered and thus no sound. Try reversing these two wires (Power antenna and amplifier turn-on) and your CD should work.
