the reset cord is bad replace it if 220 can replace with stove cord ,tie in to old cord use big wire nuts,and electrical tape I did it it worked. cut off reset switch or buy new cord with reset on it .
It's the reset button on the plug itself. Those things are the worst invention ever. Cut that thing off and attach a normal plug. Then buy a cheap power strip with automatic reset switch and plug to that.
the vent is a fresh air intake, when it is pulled open you are mixing outdoor air in the unit. when it is hot and humid outside you will make the unit struggle to cool. Leave the vent closed.
