My ASUS K52 battery is at 58% and not charging why ?

Is this an ASUS charger and battery? Some ASUS laptops will not charge after a certain charge is reached, but it's usually in the 95-100% range to prevent overcharging.

If you bought an aftermarket charger, it may very well not have the amperage to charge while running the laptop.

ASUS X502C won't turn on

Hi Jean, Don't panic and just relax. Let us solve it.
> remove and replace the battery and try turning it on
if its not working than
> connect the charger to the Laptop and leave it charging for atleast 3 hours -- only if the charging led is turned on --
if its not working than
> remove --and keep it aside-- the battery and connect the charger and try turning it on.

Laptop battery do have a specific lifespan, specially for older units. Still, you can check that your charger are working properly, using a voltmeter (do check the outer label of the charger for actual voltage output).

My battery do not keep any charge, but its condition was diagnosticated as "excellent" with specialized programs. The laptop works only with an automatic multi adaptor (Woxter brand). The system reports...

"plugged in, not charging" could a symptom of incompatibility between the charger and the battery.
If this is the case, once you unplug your ASUS ac adapter, the laptop goes off.
Anyway, it's still Ok to use the charger but you need to plug it in all the time.
Here is a little trick that I found that works.
1. Power up the Notebook with the battery installed,if you can.
2. Turn the computer completely off and remove the battery.
3. Power up the Notebook with AC power only (no battery installed).
4. Turn the computer completely off and re-install the battery.
5. Power up the Notebook.
6. The message no longer appears (at least for me it has disappeared).

Hi

Try to remove the battery, hold on power button for about 50-60seconds, then plug-in the charger and turn the laptop ON, see what happens.

Then, un-plug the charger, an pluig-in the battery, try turn the laptop on.
