Even if your machine does not have the buttonhole function, you can still make nice buttonholes with a plain zig-zag machine.

SOURCE: How do I thread a Janome JFS 1817 for double needle function?

you thread it the same as for a single needle
only you add one more spool of thread & thread thru the same
thread guides as the first needle & then thread the second needle
with the thread from the second spool,
also you have to have a spool holder for the second spool

I can't find my manuel or power cord for my Hello Kitty machine. How can I obtain one?

Hi
I can usually find manuals on Janome no problem but I can't access the one for Hello Kitty.
If you click on the specifications for any machine on the Janome site a PDF appears with a download manual button next to it. I can see the PDF but no download manual button.

This machine does look similar and I could get the link for a free manual, hope this helps. If not contact Janome.

Try ebay for a power cord. A Janome cord should fit more than one machine. Just check the connection pins etc match.

My button holes aren't consistent -backing up doesn't work proper

It sounds as though you are using the Memory button hole setting which sews the BH forward on one side(leg of the button hole ) and backward on the other side. You have button holes on Numbers 11-16. I think #16 is the one you are trying to use but the others are easier. Put the button in the special foot, pull the BH lever down( It is located on the left side of the machine towards the rear of the machine ).Select #11 and the machine should sew both legs in the same direction. This machine has always made great button holes.
