Nintendo GameCube Console Logo

Is it the game or the game system?

I place the game into my system, the Gamecube logo appears and spins, then suddenly the sound of the spinning CD stops, and the screen says "The Game Disc could not be read. Read the Nintendo Gamecube instruction booklet for more information." I just recently bought mine at Gamestop, and they did not give me an instruction booklet! Then after it starts to work for a few minutes and I play a match, the whole thing stops and it tells me that I need to turn off the Gamecube and read the manual! I need the answer to why my system (or game) is doing this!!

My gamecube messed up after trying to do a glitch on metroid prime i saw on youtube and it worked but when i went to save the gamecube make A click noise and then the black screen of death appeared saying...

Wait it could or might just be karma then. Never put cheat devices in your video game consoles because it can corrupt the system and mess up the console too. Play the games fair and square like I do because they still work and the machine doesn't want people to cheat either thats why.

Every time I put a game in it will play for a good while and then all of sudden it will say, problems reading disc check owners manual, or something like that.

This is not nessesarily a solve issue, however it worked with mine, I had the same issues when playing games. I would be in the middle of gameplay, and the the error screen would pop up and say that the disc coudnt be read, All I did to fix the issue was open the unit, blow the dust off the disc drive motor and attatched ****, then I used some 3 in one oil on all the motors inside the system. So far it hasnt messed up (FINGERS CROSSED) I hope this helps.....I noticed with my gamecube that it would quit spinning the game, and after I made it past the gameplay loaded in memory it would error out because it needed to spin the disc and load more programing into memory.....if your disc dont spin you are guarenteed a disc read error

I bought a gamecube online and it wont spin the disk

Sounds like you need the Gamecube sensor switch replaced. That is a small door device for detecting when the Gamecube DVD door or lid is closed allowing disc initiation to begin. When your Gamecube doesn't detect disk at all and simply continues the message: "Please insert a NINTENDO GAMECUBE DISC," this is the problem. You can test this by inserting a game disc, opening the Gamecube door, and then closing it. If the message "Please insert a NINTENDO GAMECUBE DISC" remains unchanged, and there is no spinning of the disk, then your GameCube lid closed door sensor is probably broken and should be replaced. You can search Google for Part GCPT032, or for GameCube Lid Closed Door Sensor.

An easy fix if you know how to open the Cube. It's cable simply plugs in, and it is held by one tiny screw.

Gamecube

if your gamecube does not read games but the disk spins then it means that your laser assembly is shot if it does not spin then the chances are its your motor hub thats shot.

if it works with some games and not others then chances are the laser assembly needs to be adjusted.

hope this helps.

Gc not spinning disk

Maybe the motor is burned out? If it is, you're probably gonna have to get a new console.
