My question is "Does the TV set have a RESET button?" If so, "How do I RESET it?"
I have a Curtis Mathes Tronic Color TV, Model CM19001, and Date October 1999. I purchased it new from K-Mart, and used it a few months, so it setting unplugged for years. About 6 months ago, I began using it again. It has a perfect picture. I cannot locate the TV Manual. I must have accidentally press the wrong button when I (thought that I) turned it off this afternoon. When I got back home, the screen says plug in the AV Jack. I only have Cable TV plugged into the set, nothing else. I tried to use the remote control, but the TV will not respond. I have tried fixing the problem manually from the TV set. It responds from the TV set, but I cannot get to the Setting menu. My question is "Does the TV set have a RESET button?" If so, "How do I RESET it?" Alternatively, do you have any other suggestions for correcting the situation? Thank you for any help you can provide in this, and I look forward to hearing from you. AW
I tried unplugging it for over an hour. I also disconnected the cable tv while it was unplugged, too.
That did not fix the problem.

The contrast setting controls the relation between the light and black areas of the screen. If the light areas are too bright and are losing details, press the CVOL button; if the picture is gray and lacks contrast, press the VOLB button
The brightness setting controls the overall amount of light in the picture. If the picture is too bright, press the CVOL button; if the picture is too dark, press the VOL B button
You can't. The only way to change it would be to go and buy a new TV. Unless you're asking about hook a game console to it, that's a different procedure. The analog refers to the internal workings of the TV its self.
2957,2981,2974,2901 are the codes to check with Curtis Mathes TVs. If you wish to get more, check these links. http://remotesearch.blogspot.com/ http://electrohelponline.blogspot.com/

Download the user manual to your TV from net. It will have all details. To download it, click here. Actually Daewoo and Curtis Mathes TVs have same motherboards inside.
I have one of this tv model too.Just used a RCA component cables like Y,R,W hook one side to the tv Video IN INPUT holes and the VCR the other end of the cable to VCR Video OUT INPUT holes. Now just pushes a channel manual button up or down a couples for the tv go into VIDEO Mode.Play the dvd player it will work.Or try Remotes.com to buy a tv original remote.Return the universal remote.
Curtis Mathes not Sony, same porb.Ur high voltage it dead, the FBT,the flyback transformer it dead, the big block of plastic with a cap hook to a CRT(tv tube).
I own a One-for-All universal remote, and my booklet says the setup code for a Curtis Mathes TV (without a built-in DVD or VCR) is one of the following numbers: 0030, 0047, 0054, 0060, 0093, 0145, 0154, 0166, 0451, 0702. I can not guarantee these numbers will work with your remote, but it is worth a try.
