TV is not coming on

If I understand your problem correctly, it sounds like the unit is not coming on... If this is correct, then replace the 3 capacitors on the output side of the power supply. There are [email protected] @25V and 1 smaller one which is [email protected]
I think the part number on the board is marked as WX-15/19/20Power-01...
This worked on a 19 curtis LCDVD191
Hope this helps...

Curtis lcdvd2223a powers on for a second then turns it's self off

Sounds like "Protection Mode". The TV automatically turns itself OFF when a part inside the TV has failed. This mode keep the other electronic parts from being damaged. Most likely the TV has a power supply related problem. It's possible that it maybe a bad capacitor or transformer on the power supply board. But, I can't say it's 100% the problem because I can't actually look at the tv over the internet. I can only make guesses with the symptoms.

You have a few choices:

1. You can try leaving the TV unplugged for 30 - 45 minutes so the TV can discharge and reset itself.
2. If by chance the TV is still under warranty, go that route.

3. If you have some electronic experience, if you can find and purchase a Service Manual over the internet; It will help you diagnose the source of the problem and fix it by soldering in the new part. The Service Manual will give you circuit diagrams, schematics, test points, and part# lists.Usually, cost under $20. And most cases the new part cost less than $15 by searchingon the internet with the part number.

4. Pay a TV shop to do the repairs. It maybe costly, but get an estimate of how much they will charge. That way you can decide if it worth repairing or replacing the whole TV.

I hope I shed some light on the subject for you.

Curtis TV, Mod#LCD2443A: Picture died, Sound is OK. Which part needs replacement - Mother-board or sub-components? Is it a big job, or simple plug-in swap? Any cautionary info? Thanks. Dave

What way you think, working with an LCD TV is skilled work indeed. Here, as sound is OK, there should be something wrong with its picture circuit of the main board. You should have skill in working with main board of an LCD TV. If you haven't it will be best to contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the sites linked here. https://elektrotricks.blogspot.com/ https://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ Faults & possible causes to LCD screen are given with illustrations. You can get an idea about the fault. Search the site by type in the Brand Name of your set, in its search bar at the right side column, and press enter. See it in by Webview with mobile or by desktop. Mobile View has no search box. Screen-shots to defective LCD panels are given. You can see and compare to that to your TVs', and can make sure about the fault to an extent. {Always respect voltages. While some may not be dangerous in themselves, they can cause unexpected reactions that are best avoided. Before reaching into a powered TV set, it is best to test the high voltage insulation. It is easy to do, and is a good service precaution.}

Curtis mathes tv model# v37ncgi blinking red light do to have a diaogram of where capulators are located?

Those blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ https://homenol.blogspot.com/ https://elektrotricks.blogspot.com/ Blinking codes details to many popular brand TVs are given. If blinks continue without any pause, the main board is faulty. Search the sites by type in the brand name to your set, in its search box on the right column. View it on a desktop or in web View. No sound on my 32" Curtis LCD3227A. I don't have remote and volume button on side of the TV isn't working as well. How do I get sound?

You have two choices to make. One is to get the TV repaired. The second would be to get and outboard tuner box, and feed the picture to the TV, and the audio to a stereo, or other audio amplifier. Those tuner boxes are very cheap compared to getting a repair person to fix the audio problem.

Color distorted on my curtis lcdtv

What type of color distortion? There are many reasons for this. More than likely a chip in your set has malfunctioned. Are you knowledgable with dissembling appliances and replacing components? Tell m e more about you problem. Did anything happen before the problem. Were you watching and it happen or you cut on the set and it was like that? can you see any picture? are the colors higher or darker or blended? I simply need more information. Unplug the set for 1 minute and plug it back in and test it. The heat in your home due to the excessive cold may be causing the solider joints in the set to loosen. More Question? Just ask Mr.Mike https://www.6ya.com/mr.mike
