My dishwasher continuosly fills even when turned off , the water drains in from the side filler , the programme seems to be stuck. I've had to turn off the water and electricity in order to stop it.
Re: My dishwasher continuosly fills even when turned off...
Check to make sure that the solenoid for filling unit is operational. It appears to be stuck in the open position. Also check to make sure that the wiring to the solenoid is good and that it is receiving power.

There is a float in the dishwasher that sometimes gets stuck and when that happens, the washer will not fill. Look for a (mostly round) upright part that will be in the front of the washer either on the left or right side. That is the float and it could be stuck in the cutoff position (caused by the soap). The older models have it on the same side where the soap is placed. The newer models have it on the opposite side to stop that exact problem. MOve it up and down and clean out any dried caked soap that might be under it.
I first checked the water valve in the dishwasher. It was working properly. The overflow or water level sensor had become stuck in the 'high level' position, thus telling the washer that it was already full of water. I corrected that and it began working properly. As for water in the bottom of the dishwasher that didn't seem to be draining completely - I turned the timer to a point in the cycle where it would drain, making sure I turned the washer off before it cycled back to the 'fill or rinse' cycle. I think the water had accumulated because of the timing of the cycles getting out of sync with the water level in the washer.
Intrrnal leak into base of appliance will make drain pump run constantly.
If appliance fills then dumps water with drain punp then keeps filling/draining sequence then the flow meter could de faulty.

turn your dishwasher on the first thing it should do is a quick drain then fill after the fill open the door and see how much water is in it hold my rating till we are through
Is there water in the drip pan? My asko developed a leaky inlet solenoid, which would fill the drip pan eventually causing a failure. If the water evaporated, the washer would run. Normally, there should be no water in the drip pan.
not easy to fix - it has a leak. the tray at the base is full of water which ooperates a float which switches drain pump on. remove front panel at bottom front and mop out water or tilt backwards 45deg and water will run out. leak is usually main pump
