Using an Automatic Bread Machine

There are several videos on YouTube about how to bake a bread in a bread machine. Several show the demonstrator pouring liquids, flour oil etc. into the bread pan when it is in the bread machine. This a mistake. You should never be pouring ingredients into the pan while it is in the machine. If you spill milk, flour, oil, butter, etc. it will drip down on the the drive of the machine, onto the heating element etc. Down there it will gum up your drive, smell bad on the heating element etc. You can easily clean a stove burner. You CAN'T easily clean the small cook chamber and drive gear on your bread machine. ALWAYS REMOVE YOUR BREADPAN FROM THE MACHINE BEFORE ADDING YOUR BREAD INGREDIENTS THEN CAREFULLY PLACE THE BREADPAN IN THE MACHINE AFTERWARDS! YOUR COOK CHAMBER (OVEN) WILL BE MUCH CLEANER AND YOUR MACHINE WILL LAST LONGER.

Paddle shaft unable to rotate in the breadpan.

Hi, There is a sealed bearing in the base of the bread pan. When this sealed bearing fails the paddle gets stuck and will not turn. Take the pan out of the machine and see if you can turn the paddle by hand. If it doesn't turn freely, then it's probably the sealed bearing that is is failing. If it turns freely, then this is good news. Keep the pan out of the machine and go to a kneading cycle. Look through the lid window to see if the motor shaft is turning. If it is not turning, then a belt fell off , needs to be tightened, or has broken. Motor, belts and pulleys are in the base of the machine. Remember to unplug machine before working inside the machine. Finally, make sure the pan is seated in the machine correctly. Good luck Hankl

I managed to scratch the loaf pan and am looking to buy a replacement for my Tr520 Breadman breadmaker. Not proving to be very easy. Help!

Hi,
Check out ebay. They seem to be expensive....For some reason I think the manufacturers don't sell the bread pans separately so you have to buy a whole new machine.

I have a locked up breadpan. Need another

Hi,
This happened to me also. I looked on Ebay but they were so expensive ($19.95 + $10.00 s/h) so I just went to Walmart and bought a new machine for $52.00. Seems they don't provide new bread pans so you have to buy a new machine. Oh well. Not a true solution, but hope this helps.

Someone posted a comment that they soaked the pan overnight in soapy water and it freed up.

Breadpan Stuck

Put your breadman on a surface low enough that you can look straight down on the pan and the machine.

On each side (L/R) there are thin aluminum "wings" that hold the pan in. The pan should be placed straight down and pulled straight up.

Adjust if you can-do remember that there is a "peg" in the center of the machine, so don't break it.

I had to fuss a little to get it straight and then lift it out.
