Question about Sunbeam Oster Electric Wine Bottle Opener

We had the same problem, and we took the thing apart, unscrewed the cork from the corkscrew and put it back together. You have to make sure you line everything up properly inside, though. There are contact points that need to be lined up on the inside.

I used a long tweezers -- about 1 ft long. I held the cork in place, then pressed the reversed button. It came right out.

The (broken) cork is spinning around the corkscrew, which is why it won't descend when you depress (up-press?) the button. It needs friction against the corkscew; insert a table knife against the (stuck) cork while pressing the (up) button, the cork will catch on the corkscrew, and begin descending. You may have to tap the opening of the Oster Corkscrew on the table top to remove anscillary cork pieces.

Thanks for the advice and it worked for me too! I didn't have any long tweezers, so I used chopsticks, haha! It actually worked!
