Tv went off but made no noise; the first few times i tried to turn it back on you could hear the audio now nothing just a blinking red light I called my techno friend and he said to google it and i could probably fix it
Unfortunately, what you're describing is a repairissue. You won't be able to address the problem with troubleshooting. There is a part inside the TV that needs to be replaced. If the TV is a rear projection AND all you need is the lamp, you could probably fix that yourself. However, if it's an LCD or plasma, I would advise you not to try the repair yourself because it's more complicated than replacing a bulb. Using Google to diagnose the problem carries some risk because you run the risk of wasting money on part of a repair. For example, if you learn that you need to replace the lamp assuming its a rear projection, you fix the lamp and the TV still doesn't work, you'll be faced with spending more money on repairs than you want to. A new 42" LCD can be purchased on walmart.com for $598.00. So, you definitely don't want to spend too much more than $200 for repairs. If you do have a rear projection, the replacement bulb will cost about $200. If you'reunder warranty, this will cost you nothing.

Hello. My name is Russ. Maybe I could help you, but I need to know model number of your TV (it is located on the sticker at the back of your TV next to serial number of the unit). Also I need to knoe exactly how many times red light is blinking. It does it repeatedly. Foe example: six blinks, pause, another six blinks and so on. Regards.

Your color wheel needs to be changed. Mine just did the same thing. I changed mine, and the buzzing sound went away, however now my picture washes out with light or yellow colors. The darks look green and purple also.
Dont plug it on your tv the FLYBACK of your tv was defective. Need to replace your flyback or else more parts inside was damage. Bring your tv to a Electronic tech.
My Kenwood VR-507 had been working great. I hadn't changed anything. I hadn't even moved it. It just suddenly stopped producing sound. It didn't just stop while it was on. I had turned it off and when I turned it back on, nothing. I tried running the speaker setup to see if it would output pink noise, I could hear the test sound, but I couldn't hear any audio from the TV or DVD player..
