My Peugeot 106 makes short beeping sounds when shutting down. Car stars normally, but again when shutting down beeps four times and stops. What does this mean?

It sounds like it could be a seat belt sensor. These only work when the car is moving. Do you have anything on the passenger seat that could make the car think there is a passenger there?
Try fastening all the seatbelts and see if the beeping continues. If there is no beeping, try unfastening the seatbelts one by one & see if you can find which one is causing the problem.
if it turns out it is a seatbelt sensor, you could drive with that belt fastened until you can get the sensor replaced.

BRAKES applied... Lights all turned off... (no lights on dash?).

Repeat your last exit cycle...

Get back in start the car... Make sure everything functions as normal Set your brake... Park, off the lights (everything)...

Put it in gear...

Still beeping... (write down your radio settings)

Time to do a Bill Gates... (hard power cycle)
Disconnect your negative battery lead
and take a 10 minute break...

Reconnect battery... start car & park it again... OK?

ELSE...

If it resumes beeping it will be time to beg, borrow or buy that OBD Reader you always wanted any-way!

A simpler solution: Turn off your AC. It has a sensor that beeps when it's over-heated. If you have a trip that will take a couple of hours or more, top off your coolant and turn your AC down to its lowest fan and temp level. You're welcome.

It means that radio wasn't coded to you car - you'll have to visit a dealer or someone with peugeot planet (or diagbox) interface, and have your car's VIN coded into your radio.

parking sensor beep?
if yes then if one of the sensor fails then all system goes off and keeps buzzing

It could be a fault code being reported
you haven't mentioned a make or model
take it to an accredited service center that has experience on the make and discuss the problem with them

no its not right,either change the fuel filter and air filter .if still no joy then get someone to check the injector pump timing because it sounds like someone has changed the timing belt and not done it right..the cam and pump are locked up with a 8mm bolt through the gearwheel into a indent hole behind and ???sounds like weekend mechanic job ,couldnt or didnt know how to sort ot or what they done ??so flogged it quick

Sounds like a shorted key fob or intermittent BCM problem.

was the vehicle ever in an accident? Does the airbag light come on when starting? If the lamp is burned out it will send an audible beep to warn

You know, I have a 2005 Mustang GT that honks randomly. MAKE SURE you troubleshoot it now. I waited and now my alternator is fried. About 95% of voltage disturbances can be contributed to the alternator, and from what I understand the alternators on our cars are notorious for crapping out. -Amanda
