I have a Sharpe LC-60LE600U. The power went out on it. What power board works on that TV. The lower left hand corner has a black spot, too. Will the power board fix the black spot as well?

Power Board wil not fix black spot. the spot is caused from lamp failure. Led strip has at least one LED out, takes out the whole section. Go into trouble shooting to verify. After so many start ups with the black spot, the TV will not turn on in TV mode.

You have a defective light engine and you DO NOT have to be under warranty to have it replaced. Here's what you need to do...we just went through this. You need to call Hitachi's Customer Relations Department (not regular customer service). The customer relations # for Hitachi is 800-654-7013. Tell them what's happening with your set and that you think it's a bad light engine. When you call them, they will initially act like they have not heard of this problem but will give you some names of some certified Hitachi dealers in your area.

Call one of the dealers and they will send a tech out to diagnois the problem. Once the tech tells you that you have a defective light engine (all they have to do is look at the set when you have it turned on) call Hitachi customer relations back and tell them you had a tech out to confirm the problem. They will then act like they know exactly what you're talking about...imagine that! They will call the dealer that came out and once they confirm this with them, they will send a new light engine to the dealer. The dealer will then call you and arrange a time to come out and install it.

This part is paid for by Hitachi, regardless if you're under warranty or not. If your under warranty, the service should be covered if not, the part will be covered by Hitachi and all you pay is for the install. Our install was $400. DO NOT let any dealer get the part and tell you that you have to pay the $1500 for it. Hitachi knows about this problem and they are paying for the part. All you pay is for the install. Again, deal only with customer relations at the number listed above and only deal with a dealer Hitachi refers you to. Good Luck!

SOURCE: Light green and pink spots on my hd tv!!!

(Yes, this is a cross-post from another thread...I just wanted to help everyone on the various threads on this issue...please do not flame me)
Ok...once and for all I will explain the fix (in detail...which has been missing)...

1) Firmware updates do not fix this problem. I had this problem, and updated my firmware to the latest versons without success. Also, cleaning the light engine (or any other part) does not fix this problem. If you cleaned your TV and your problem disappeared, you had a different problem.)
2) This repair requies a special tool from Panasonic. The tool is part number LSUQ0100. It is light grey in color, and is roughly 7" x 5" x 1" in size. It has diagnostic lights on it, and a button to press to start the procedure. This tool is used to reprogram your EEPROM. Again, this is VERY different than flash upgrading your firmware.
3) To repair the TV, the repairman must remove the lower back of the unit and plug the long, 5-wire connector (5 individual wires terminated to one female connector end - reminds you a bit of an old-style CD-ROM audio cable used in computers) into a male recepticle on the light engine.
4) The procedure takes roughly 6-7 minutes to complete. The TV remains on during the procedure (yeah, I was a bit surprised too). About mid-way through the procedure, your colored ball-shaped blotches will just disappear....no on-screen progress bar, no bright flash, the spots just disappear in the blink of the eye.
5) CALL PANASONIC!!! They are standing behind these TVs, and are covering these in-home repairs free-of-charge - EVEN IF YOUR TV IS OUT OF WARRANTY. Mine was out of warranty by over a year. The Panasonic rep was very kind, but did explain that this is the only repair for these TVs that they will cover out of warranty, as it was a defect in the manufacture of the unit - all other repairs are at the expense of the customer.

Good luck to all - I hope this helps some of you!
Cheers to Panasonic for standing behind their products like this....you don't see that very much these days!

Thanks,
Chris

SOURCE: Loss Sync

According to SharpUSA the problem with the "Loss of Sync" error message is that (most probably) the cables (between the box and the display) are not connected properly (so remove and reconnect them carefully, on both units) or a cable is defective.

Also, after you reconnect the cables try turning on the unit, if no success then depress the "clear" button on the external box (under the door on the front and on the bottom left and try turning on the TV again).

It is, most likely, that the cables are not seated properly. Reseat the cables on both the display and the external box.

Hopefully, this will clear the problem
if still does not solves your problem just replace all the cables connected between .u can get the new cables at radioshack web site.just place an order they will provide you. thanks.

SOURCE: tv won't turn on. blinking red light in lower left corner

unplug the television...wait 10 seconds and then plug back in....if you listen carefully after 5-10 seconds you will hear a click sound (the same sound that you hear when you turn on or off) ...once you have heard it, turn the TV on again using the remote. Do not turn on until you hear the click. If this does not work, try again but turn the TV on again before you hear the click. I dont know why it happens but it is as if the TV gets confused as to whether its supposed to be on or off. Most of the time, the solution is to turn it on after the click so I would always try that first.

Remove black line appears on your LCD TV

You may get a vertical black line appeared on your LD screen. Don't panic. You may not have to replace the LCD panel (cost $1K more) or replace the TV. This is likely due to the issue with X-Y control board (either with connector or electronics). Here is the trick, use your hand to apply pressure on the TV frame (the edge if there is one, not directly on the LCD itself) exactly above or below where the line is. I was able to make the line disappeared in a few trials. I have done this 2 to 3 times in the last 3 years. I guess the same may apply to a horizonal black line and you press on the left and the right of where the line is. Good luck and let us know if it works for you.

This tip may work on 1 line of defect. If you have more lines as group or they appear in several areas, you will have a real problem that needs serious repair.

My LC 60le600U Sharp 60 tv Aquos brand will not stay on. it powers up then turns back off after a few seconds

if this tv is still under warranty i would be filling a claim straight away this is almost always wither a hardware or firmware fault both of which if stock should be covered under warranty.

LC-60LE600U sharp tv will not turn on

Fault to the main power supply regulator section. Either it will be a separate board, or the part of main board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts.
http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size.

My grandson spilled some water which got into my mitsibishi tv and created a black spot in the lower left hand corner. How can i fix this?

Take it apart and clean the dried water spots off. Its hard to say if it will work but that's the first thing I would try.
