Why no power ?

If you got everything hooked up when replacing the board the one you received is defective, however the power board isn't known for failure in this model set so your old one may be ok, have you tested the PWR_ON pin to see if you have voltage there when you push the power button? The 5 volt standby has to be working if you get a standby lamp, think you said it flashes. If you don't see around 3 volts when the power button is pushed on the power on pin going from the power supply to main the main board is defective, if you see voltage test the other rails coming from the power supply and see if they look good. This model has a really high failure of the LED backlights, a guess is this is what's wrong with your TV.

Make sure that the capacitor is discharged and there is no power to board. Un solder the cap on both ends from the board and replace with another known working capacitor of same capacity and voltage. The value on the replacement can be a little higher but in no circumstances should the capacity or voltage be lower than the original.

Sorry no. H98 means the microwave has detected that the high voltage diode is defective. If the oven is out of guarantee, you might find a local servicing place to repair it - the diodes are only a couple of pounds (few dollars) BUT knowing panasonic, it might be part of a module that cannot be opened up.

Sorry but there is no reset for a failed diode and the approved fix is to replace a complete inverter board. Apparently this is a known fault and the replacement board is different to the original. If you are a good negotiator you may just get a repair even if out of guarantee as there is a known defect. Try asking nicely on their facebook page if they have one. Often gets results.

Inverter board is one that supply high voltage to its back light CCFL lamps. There is an other inverter board SMPS [Swtch Mode Power Supply]. 1. Check or replace the harnesses.
2. Replace the high voltage power supply board
3. Replace the EGB.

Power supply or high voltage supply problem---set well known for bad solder connections in and around the high voltage transformer---also known in early models for the high voltage splitter to be bad.

If no power light present you need to have the fuse going to the cord checked and if light present someone needs to open and examine power board and check voltages first.

depending on what is found boards may have to be purchased and tried.

If taken to a shop: some will just "look" and shoot you a high estimate to collect the estimate fee.

Remember: no one can KNOW which board will fix it until they actually install the part and have a known working unit.

If your TV doesn't have a picture even you play a DVD it means there is problem to your TV.It could be the Inverter board or the cold cathode lights is busted.


This are the steps on how to fix that problem.

1. Remove the back cover of your TV.
2. After that,plug in the TV and power it ON to perform a voltage data.
   
3. Check the the output voltage of your power supply by using multimeter tester (range in DC) then check the 24vdc(supply of inverter board).
4. If you have 24vdc in power supply output,check also the input voltage of inverter board if have 24vdc.If doesn't check the wire connection from power supply to the inverter board.
5. If have you input voltage of inverter then check the high voltage output of it,if have at least 500vdc so be careful to check it because it have a high voltage.
6. If doesn't have high voltage output replace the inverter board and if have a output voltage the cold cathode lamp inside is busted so you have to replace it

Seven blinks of standby light in Sony tv denotes that there is a high voltage problem. It is otherwise called as high voltage shutdown.
Normally 32" tvs has an anode voltage of 27,000Vdc approximately. If it rise beyond its limit, the microcontroler in your set will detect the high voltage, and will prevent it from working further, to protect you fro X-Ray emisson as well as to protect the TVs other components inside the ciircut board from further damages, and will inform you about this fault, by seven continous blinkings of standby light. Now you are seeing this.
The final anode voltage depends very much on the input DC voltage to LOT [Line Output Transformer]. Usually this supply rail will have a voltage level of 135 to 140VDC. If it rises above this level, extra high tension voltage generated by the above said LOT will also rise proportionaly to high, which will goes to the final anode of the picture tube. If this voltage goes very high, there is a chance to radiate X-Rays from the picture tube which will harm you. This high voltage protection also known as X-Ray protection.
The main reason for this fault is related to the regulated power supply section inside the circuit board of your tv. To repair this, you have to open the back cover of your TV. Take every precautions before doing anything to your TV as it is an electrical equipment, which generates high voltages inside it while it is working, and there are voltage points as high as 30KVDC [30,000VDC], wich is very dangerous.
Just open your tv, and locate the power supply section. It is very easy to locate, as the main supply wire goes into it. There will be a regulator Ic, normally Sony sets have STR numbered ICs are used in that section. This regulator will heat up to 75degreeC, and there is a chance to get loose the solderings on its leg points, as continous heating and cooling process. Just look for any loose solderings on the solder side of your TVs power supply section. In practice, I found this in too many Sony sets, during my 36 years in this service field. It is very difficult to detect the exact loose point, so I always do is, just resolder most of the suspected points on the pcb, by applying a little more solder, and will retify the problem. Moreover, just replace small electrolytic capacitors fitted on that board, because some of them may cause this voltage rise. The DC supply voltage rail, will be between 135VDC or so. Any fault in the components fitted around the above said STR will cause this problem. So check every components, and replace if needed. If this does not help replace the STR with same type and number.
