If the projector has two RGB inputs (they will be blue & look like female serial ports and be marked input1 & input2 or possibly RGB1 & RGB2) then both PC's can be connected, but only one image from one of the PC's can be displayed at a time. To change between them use the "input" button on the projector or remote control to switch between RGB1 & RGB2. If your projector has only one RGB connector at the back it is still possible to use the video input for the second PC but you will need a special adaptor for the RGB cable from one of your PC's.

I have a new Acer Aspire ONE D257-13464 I have Windows 7 Starter on it. I am having problems with my projector and the Acer mini laptop. When I am doing a business presentation I can not use it in the...

Charles - does the laptop have an alternate function button that allows for different displays? Similar to the presentation mode, this will manually tell the laptop to use either the native screen, an extension screen (the projector or monitor) or both. Typically this is triggered with the Function (Fn) button and maybe one of the F7 keys at the top. You'll see writing on it that will say LCD/CRT or have a little box like a monitor. Let me know if this helps!

you might need to turn off your computer .
then connect the data projector
and turn on data projector
then turn on computer
hopefully it detects the data projector is connected and switches windows to duplicate projection
On my P.C. F4 key in windows Switches the display manually to duplicate, alternate screen or pc screen only or projector screen only.
As I am not familiar with Apple this support article below might explain the switching of display outputs available on Apple Mac.

T30 cannot connect to projector/external monitor on windows 7.

You can connect your computer to a projector to give a presentation on a large screen.First make sure the projector is turned on, and then plug the display cable from the projector into a video port on your computer.
Then press Win Key+P or run DisplaySwitch.exe and choose your preferred display.
Note:1.You can use this same procedure to connect your computer to a monitor
2.This will have no effect if you’ve only one display connected

Connecting to a projector, presentation mode is

Try right clicking on your desktop, go to properties, then settings, you should see display 1 and display 2, right click on 2 and select attach.

If its not there press FN+F8 a few times, also look for the presentation software that came with your laptop and see if it has the feature to turn it on.

I wanted to use power point on my tosbhiba lap top ,with the benq projector.i hooked it up and my montor went black but i can still the program on the projector screen what now?

You were succesful

Now run the powerpoint presentation as you would on a normal screen.

Most laptops also have the ability to run both displays at once and you may want to check out that ability too if you are having problems operating on a large display.

I usually use a wireless laser pointer presenter that operates as a mouse so that I can wander while using presentations.

IBM T60 can not connect to projector. I have some

Most notebooks have a keystroke that enables the external video port for presentations.

According to the manual for the T60, your Fn +F7 key combination does the following:

"Apply a presentation scheme directly, with no need to start Presentation Director. To disable this function and use the Fn+F7 key combination for switching a display output location, start Presentation Director, and change the settings."

"Switch a display output location
v External monitor (CRT display)
v Computer display and external monitor (LCD + CRT display)
v Computer display (LCD)"

"Notes:
1. This function is not supported if different desktop images are displayed on the computer display and the external monitor (the Extend desktop function).
2. This function does not work while a DVD movie or a video clip is playing."

"To enable this function, do as follows when you log on to Windows 2000 or Windows XP:
Note: Multiple users can log on to a single operating system by using different user IDs. Each user needs to do the following:
1. Start Windows 2000 or Windows XP, and log on to the system.
2. Start Presentation Director, and change the Fn+F7 settings."

Gateway laptop 450ROG video issue when using a projector

Honestly from the information you have listed it sounds like the issue is with your projector, not your laptop. If your laptop was having display issues it would be consistent on anything it was attempting to output display to, such as your monitor.

The projector sounds like its out of focus and possibly has a bad back light in it, I would suggest contacting the manufacture for a possible resolution.

Presentation mode is off...

I'm going to guess that you have a wide screen Dell laptop with a 16:10 aspect ratio and a default resolution of 1280X800. The wide screen is great BUT most presentation grade projectors do not have a native (pixel for pixel) 16:10 mode. Instead they still prefer a display input with a 4:3 aspect ratio like your old square CRT or standard definition TV. Why do they prefer a 4:3 input? Mainly because Powerpoint prefers to display a slideshow in a 4:3 mode. Because of this Dell, in their infinite wisdom, created the 'presentation mode' utility in an attempt to automatically convert the VGA output of your laptop from 16:10 to 4:3 on the fly. In my experience this is an annoyance at best and at worst can seriously impact the size and quality of the projected image.

The best thing you can do when you connect to a projector is ignore the presentation mode alert and manually set your laptop's resolution to 1024X768 for an XGA rated projector or 800X600 for an SVGA rated projector. This will cause your desktop to look stretched on your laptop but will give you by far the best projection image.
