Have you checked for problems listed in Device Manager or the System Event Log? Have you made sure you have the most current drivers for all of your devices? Is the driver for your decoder Win7 compatible?Have you checked for problems listed in Device Manager or the System Event Log? I had same problem after an upgrade but i simply found updated drivers from Microsoft Update which fixed my problem. If this doesnt work for you try the manafacturers website for updated drivers, even Vista drivers should work....cheers
Okay, Media center does not work with some Wintv HVR's yet it will work with the software it came with and sometimes media center will use the wintv software to make it work but its sketchy. If you want a more media center compatiable card look at www.microsoft.com website they have a list of media center compatable Tv tuner cards, Trust me I am having the same problem with my tuner card now and its not wintv its a RCA and its under windows 7 this is just the thing here not all card work with media center.

PROBLEM SOLVED. APPARENTLY THE GIGA POCKET PROGRAM IS AFFECTED BY THE SONIC STAGE MUSIC PROGRAM OF SONY. I RE-FORMATTED AND DID NOT INSTALL THE VAIO MEDIA AND SONIC STAGE SOFTWARE ...
THE TV TUNER NOW WORKS FINE ....
I JUST USE WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER AND WINAMP FOR THE MUSIC ....
NO REMOTE CONTROLS ... BUT THE TV TUNER WORKED .... ONCE MORE ....
Install the Driver manually, the automatic installation of the driver is not installing the drivers properly, that is why when you restart the system it is not able to identify the device. for this uninstall the driver restart your system then install the driver manually.

Happy Holidays!
well, if you got experience on reformat OS, do so, Go ahead and format and install the Windows Media Center, there could be something missing from the restored past installation.
Wheather or not you see the right drivers, in control panel, is a best way to reformat the system and if you got all the drivers, install them after the OS installation..
good luck
