I have a 32in Vizio Smart TV, how do I program it to have a channel 03 so I can hookup an older VCR. I already have a DVD player hooked up to its Red/Yellow/White A/V connectors. Thank you very much for the assistance.

Forgot to mention I already tried using the Channl selector with and without the DVD and/or the VCR hooked up. I also have tried using a switch box to do it with but the tv will not recognize the other one when switched until I go into the menu and input its information (either way when switching between them). Thank you.

If you don't have more entries, you could try to use a SCART switching box. This is one, but there are many others. There are also connectors going from scart to R / W / Y and vice versa.

O.K. next to the antenna output on the VCR, sometimes is a modulator. Tuned in to a certain channel. Most to the time there is a little screw to fine tune the frequency it is transmitting. So if your TV has an analoge antenna entry, you could try to hook that up with a coax antenna cable, put the VCR in Menu mode and search on the TV all analog channels, to find the signal. Even when you find a bad signal, try adjusting it with the little screw on the VCR.

No screw or no modulator on the VCR and you can forget everything above.

Harrie, thank you for the assistance. I will give the Scart sitwching box a look and see if it can help me out. The last switching box I tried did not do the trick but who knows maybe this one will. I can swtch between channels 3 & 4 on the vcr but the tv has a station number 4 already for one of the loco :) stations.

Sorry, one of my comments is not here anymore.

When your TV still can work with the old analog channels and toy VCR has a modulator, it is worth trying them to hook up with a coax cable. then put the VCR in menu mode and let the tv search all channels. even when the channel is not 100%, perhaps you can fine tune the frequency with the little screw on the modulator.

James,

Televisions come factory with the ability to have channel 03. On your remote you will notice a button labeled "input", press this button until your television reaches ANY numbered channel. You will pass through "HDMI 1, HDMI 2, INPUT" etc etc, continue pressing input until you reach a screen that displays a number at the top of the screen. Generally it is defaulted to 03.. if not, once you're on that screen just use the remote and type in "03". This will bring you to your desired channel.

Best of luck

How do I hook my Sanyo DVD/VCR player to my slyvania TV

Wow - lots of info needed about your tv for a good answer there. But I can assume you only have a cable TV hookup on the back of your TV - and dont have a RCA input. So I will go on that. I had an old TV and had just this situation... I used my VCR to interface the DVD player for me.

So I ran the DVD player output to my VCR ( that had the typical RCA cables ) - Vidieo - Right channel- left channel - and then ran the VCR output COAX ( standard cable TV cable ) from my VCR to my old TV. once I selected channel 3 or 4 on my tv, I could see my VCR and my VCR would send me the DVD output, if I set the VCR to do that. Now I could record a DVD onto VHS ( for my personal use only of course ) good luck...

Dvd hookup to phillips tv without inputs

Have yourself a VCR that has a Scart input, or Video in, and feed the DVD in there. Connect your TV to the VCR, and tune it in to the video channel, using aerial lead and tuner.

When you flick VCR to AV1 (or similar) you should see the DVD appear on the TV Video Channel :)

I need playback channel for tv to be ch.4 -

Solution 1

How to set the DVD Recorder+VCR’s RF output channel
Turn off the DVD Recorder+VCR, then press and hold
CH (v/V) on the front panel for about five
seconds to change the RF output channel (CH 03 or
CH 04). “RF 03” or “RF 04” appears on the front panel display.

Solution 2

Cable Service With Cable Box
If a cable box is required in your cable system, follow the
instructions shown below. This hookup permits both TV and
DVD Recorder+VCR operation.
To view or record a CATV channel:
1 Tune the TV to the correct video input channel.
2 Set the DVD Recorder+VCR to the output channel of the
cable box using the CH (v / V) or the 0-9 keys on your DVD
Recorder+VCR (e.g., CH3).
3 Select the channel you wish to view on the cable box.

Hooking up dvd player

Look for any button either on the unit or the remote marked with common stuff like A/V, Input, Source, Aux or Au, Line, TV-VID. or try dialing in Channel 0, or 00, or 1, or Channel Down surf below Channel 2. Alternately, get into the menu and look for stuff concerning Auxiliary inputs.

If all else fails, you can run a DVD's audio and video line-signals THROUGH a VCR. Hookup the VCR to the TV's RF (threaded) connector using standard coaxial cable. Hookup the DVD a/v output lines to the Line-ins of the VCR. Tune the TV to Ch. 3, tune the VCR to Line-in or Auxiliary and press the play or tv/vid button on the VCR to force the DVD signal through on channel 3 onto the TV.

Dvd/vcr player is hooked up but not playing...

Yes. You definitely need to set your TV on a specific channel - GAME, in your case. Check your TV manual how to get to that GAME channel.

RCA TV - Trying to hookup new dvd/vcr player to old tv with only antenna input

The input on your television is probably coaxial (for cable or an antenna) which means it needs an RF modulated signal. You can find one of those at your local department or electronics stores. Just look for an "RF Modulator" or "video-RF convertor." They're most commonly used to hook video games up to older televisions.

Now, if you've got an old VCR handy, that has an external input, it already has the RF modulator built-in.

VCR not recording higher-numbered channels

Yes coming in her VCR with Cable or ant, if she has satellite it would be different. Going out to tv from VCR. Then in is Input the Out is Output. RF cable connection or A/V inputs(jacks) either one same way of hookup.
