Channel 3 is what you want anyways if you use the co-axial for the input. You can't have any other channels until you do a scan and there are no other channels anyways when you are using the tv as a monitor. So all your problems exist before that. Since the tuner is analogue and the satellite receiver is digital you may need a modern brown box.

Try unplugging it from the wall, wait 1 minute, then replug.
I presume you have tried both the remote and the button on the front of the set.

The connector is part of the tuner module and it can be replaced individually. An original new one costs around $25 but it will be hard to find - this model (ALPS CERIA) is no longer made. But similar ones are readily available at hobby and parts shops for a similar price - some minor adjustments and a lot of soldering will have to be done.

Hello Andy, Hi!, you can hook up your DVD in 3 ways. 1. using standard RCA cables, 2, using Svideo cables, and 3. using HDMI cables. Depending on your player. I suggest you buy the RCA cable. they are color coded so the yellow goes to the player Video out to the TV video in, red and white cables goes to the Left and Right channel of the player audio out to the TV audio in. thats it.

Well, fuses are made to protect systems from shorts and surges, so it might be okay even if that was the problem. I'd closely reexamine the area you soldered-- checking to see if you globed any solder over circuit pathways.
Then you could try a new fuse.
Another option would be to DEsolder it as much as possible, maybe even remove the coax port, before you replace the fuse. If it works after that, then that would be a good indicator that the fuse blowing is related to the coaxial.
If I've learned one thing over the years, it's that when separate symptoms occur at around the same time, chances are they have a common cause.

yes you can connect this to your tv.

The input on your television is probably coaxial (for cable or an antenna) which means it needs an RF modulated signal. You can find one of those at your local department or electronics stores. Just look for an "RF Modulator" or "video-RF convertor." They're most commonly used to hook video games up to older televisions as well things like your dvd recorder.

I do not know all the thngs you have, like vcr, dvd player, ect. so i can only tell you with just a cable box, and your player, and your tv.. the same basic concept will apply though,, hook everything up from input then goigin to output of the next device. Cable box will always be first. and tv will always be the very last thing.

Take your cable box, and put it into the input of yor dvd recorder. then form the output of that, plug it into the RF Modulator. then from the output of that you can hook it directly into your tv.

Note: if you have a vcr you can go from cable box out ---> vcr in ---> vcr out ---->dvd recorder --> rf convertor --> tv.

just remember as you add in devices cable box is always first in the chain, and the rf modulator is right b4 that. and plugged into that is the dvd recorder.

(note if your running though multi device make sure the channel setting on the back is all set tot he same on each device if you can specify the channel on it)

please rate me. and mark this fixya if it was helpful. you can also recommend me to others.
