Well fbyrd95 goodluck. I have checked out the pages they offer for help. You will need to purchase a cable/satellite box to get the channels routed through the vcr. I received one of these for christmas. It is the sorriest excuse for a vcr/dvd combo I have ever seen. If this is bought as a dvd/vcr combo then I would assume that vcr means that it will record. I do not have the receipt or it would be returned. I will never purchase a philips product.

The DVP3340V does not have a tuner so it doesn't have a coax input. It is meant to be connected to a set top cable or satellite box for recording to the VCR and then to the TV or just connect it to the TV for watching a video.

There doesn't seem to be a code available at the moment but from looking around lots of dvd forums there seems to be a lot of people pointing to this site:
Multi-Region - Phillips DVP3340v
Instructions:

1. Download zoran.zip
2. Write the file LG36868.IMG to a CD-R
   • It's a regular file, not a CD image
3. Put the CD into the DVD player
   (This should open up a region menu)
   The last 2 steps are done on your remote control:
   
4. Press 0 for multi-region
5. Press PAUSE

I've seen a few comments that say this works but I don't have the player to test it myself.
I have downloaded the "Zoran" file though, unzipped it and scanned it for viruses and it came up clean.

try dvdshrink not really sure if it will work with that format but it will let you ope files and convert them to an iso for burning.

Yes. You definitely need to set your TV on a specific channel - GAME, in your case. Check your TV manual how to get to that GAME channel.

This model DVP3340V is only a DVD player/VCR. You can record to the VCR but not on the DVD.

Basically, it took a "reboot" (of a sorts). I unplugged the unit and let it sit long enough to wipe out "stored" settings. When I plugged it back in, it seemed to work fine. Who knows...

I'm not sure if you've done this yet, but this might work.. goodluck to you... let me know if it helps
