I saw your fix regarding the LG 897T for allowing DiVx dvd's to be played. I did what you said, but did not know how to get out of the menu so I killed the power to the 897t. Now my remote will not control the 897t at all. I know that the remote is good because it can control my tv. Is there a factory reset for the 897? I am really stuck. Thanks for any help!!!!Eric Malinowski(716) 289-4983 Cell

You can find the remote control codes for different brands
of devices from
http://www.hifi-remote.com/ofa/codes-tv.shtml#tv
More help for programming your remote can be found here:

Hope that helps! If that didn’t work, you will probably have
to contact the manufacturer to get the code..
Thank you for using FIXYA!
Cheers!

If your oneforall remote didn't come with the page that gives you the set codes, you can try 991 as the code. So in this order ;
Press tv, wait fir it to blink
press 9 9 1, then power
(it should blink again)
press tv again - it should set
***IF THIS DIDN'T WORK***
SLOWLY press power, then tv, wait,
then power, then tv, wait,
After several times it should set.
(Each time you do this, it tries yet another code to set)

In 480p resolution, you highlight the 16.9 aspect ratio from the TV Aspect menu option in Setup and then type 1397139 on the remote. This brings up the service screen with all options and machine information.
Optimal (best) settings are as follows.
1 : f 2 2 : 35 (this is DivX)
3 : 93 (macrovision?) 4 : f f (Vcd/Svcd)
5 : f f (region free) 6 : c0 (c0 = LG logo)(ce = Insignia)
7 : 04 8 : 15
All I can say is Keep these and and dont mess around or you can kill it....
