C97 is charging issue, u need to check T/S block, main charger unit

Make sure the main charger & T/S block is OK

C97 is high voltage/charging issue, there is no code to release...
U need to check the main charger unit. t/s block unit...

There are several error you need to know the sub code by pressing c and 8, frequently you may come across the error code C44,C97,C26
.For C44 the error clearance is "switch on the copier while pressing 0&8 AD will appear enter 400 and press start (print) button and enter "0" and press Interrupt button , switch off and on the machine .If the error code is C97 the main charger to be cleaned in drum unit, If it is C26 you need to check the scanner cable..Hope the anser.

[C97] High-voltage transformer abnormality
(1) Is the main charger installed securely?
(2) Check if the spring of high-voltage supply contact point is deformed.
(3) Check if the needle electrode is broken or the main charger grid is deformed.
(4) Check if any foreign matters is on the needle electrode or the main charger grid.
(5) Is the transfer/separation charger installed securely?
(6) Check if the transfer/separation charger wire is broken or unhooked.
(7) Check if any foreign matter is on the transfer/separation charger wire.

There is no error code c97 but there is a c970
c970 is a hgih voltage transformer abnotmality.

there are many things that can cause this most needing a trained technican
some common causes are:
a broken/shorted charge grid/needle elecrode
broken/defective high voltage power supply

How to reset error code c97 in the Toshiba e studio 166?

On the power board, you will see two large electrolytic capacitors at one corner and a transformer directly next to them on the long side of the board. The big blue (usually blue, anyway) box next to those is C97. On the other side of that are three white power resistors standing in a row. The part number label for the board is usually on the edge of the board right close to C97.
