Check your floppy drive and see if there's a disk in it and remove it. If there is no diskette in the floppy drive and you are still getting the error. You can go into the Bios and turn off the "boot from floppy drive", that way it will not look for the floppy drive when booting up. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: my laptop model is hp

You may have a defective Motherboard (BIOS or CMOS chip to be specific). Normally, a non-system disk error can be attributed to a failing hard drive. But since you mentioned that you cannot access the system configuration, that means your BIOS is not able to see your bootable device anymore. You may need to have your computer serviced which means a motherboard replacement.
But before you send your computer to a service center, try to discharge flea power first. You may be surprised how many issues it can resolve. You can do this by removing the battery and the AC adapter of your computer. After doing this, hold the power button down for at least 5 seconds. Reconnect the components, and then try to turn your computer on. Hopefully this works so that you don't need to spend as much. The cost of a motherboard replacement would be more like replacing your whole system. Good Luck!!!

SOURCE: when a compaq armada m700 laptop is showing

this usually happens when the computer is trying to boot from a disk that isn't a valid boot disk.

if you have a floppy drive plugged into the multibay and a floppy in the drive, try removing the floppy.
if there is no floppy involved, try to boot from your system recovery disks, as it's likely that the boot record on the hard drive will need repaired. your system recovery disks should walk you through the process.

SOURCE: my hp laptop shows non system disk or disk error

First - re-seat the harddisk and reboot the computer. If the computer does not boot up then reboot andgo into the BIOS configuration to see if the BIOS detects the hard drive. If itdoesn't detect the hard drive then it could be faulty. Then the hard drive needsto be replaced in the computer/laptop, Windows installed and the computer orlaptop's device drivers plus your programs etc. to get a functioningcomputer/laptop again.

I am having a problem with the boot of my compaq aremeda 700. It says 1782 disk controller failuer then non system disk error or disk error, replace and strike any key when ready. I think this all things...

First thing to do is enter the BIOS screen. This is the computers built in system configuration. Navigate to the Exit portion and choose "Load Setup Defaults" . Save the changes and exit. The Laptop will restart. If it is still showing, ensure there isn't a disk in the CD-rom. If all of the above doesnt help. Make sure the hard drive hasn't wiggled loose.
