How do I remove the end cover and adjust the needle centering on a PfaFF 2042?

I don't see any screws, just some tabs on the side, yet something is holding the end cap on so I can't get it off. The needle keeps hitting the metal plate and not going into the bobbin hole. I need to adjust the needle centering.

Pfaff Quilt Style 2042. How to change a lightbulb in it please. Cannot get outside cover off which I know I have to do first.

This mentions a lamp changer tool. There is only one video that I can see hiding under the 'People also Ask' section but it is a different model.

I am trying to get the left cover to stay on my Pfaff 2042 after changing the light bulb. What is the trick?

There are most likely some clips that hold it on and it's just a matter of holding your mouth in the right place... You can always try contacting a pfaff dealer. They may be able to show you how to put it back on.

Just wondering. The manual says to remove the accessory tray which is attached to the free arm. There doesn't appear to be a part of the case covering the bulb that should be removed. Did you remove a part of the case covering the needle mechanism and bulb? That could be the issue since the upper case should be removed only by a technician.

I am not sure how to replace my broken self threader hook, to put in a new hook for my 2040 model, Pfaff sewing machine?

If your talking about the needle threader, it just simply slides on to the stainless steel shaft and snaps on. You might have to adjust it a little if it doesn't line up with the eye of the needle. To do that you need to remove the side cover of the needle bar area, and loosen the 1.5MM allen screw that sets the stop for the threader stop. It is located near the top of the needle threader bar.

I have a Pfaff 1471 which is dropping black stuff, maybe black plastic from the needle action onto the fabric while sewing. Is there a belt there that may have broken up?

No there is not belt over buy the needle. There is a few plastic parts in the needle area(allso called the "head"). It may need to be cleaned, you can take that side cover off buy a screw from the top. It is a few inces down in the machine just look down in from the top right next to the end cover. You just need to losen the screw not take it all the way out. Then pull the cover of and inspect.
does it sew ok?
Also may need to remove the top panel with the stitchs numbers on it. Just bend it in the midle and it will pop off.

I have a Pfaff 7570 and I would like to adjust the thread tension. Most of the time when embroidering it is set at 1 or 0...and never higher than 3-4. Also I can't get the light bulb end out. it broke...

Lift top cover. remove top cover (flat springs on each end of cover - move one with your finger and top will come off. Lift handle. Look to right of handle end over the head. There is a screw there. LOOSEN screw and front cover will slide away from head. Bunch up a paper towel or napkin and press into broken bulb socket and turn same counter clockwise to get bulb socket out. Good Luck!

Pfaff 1222

With power off, needle out, no presser foot, remove top cover off of the machine. Left side cover (light area) has 2 flathead screws deep inside the cover. No need to remove the screws, just loosen the up and the cover can be removed by pulling it out. Now you'll see the light bulb, remove the bulb. On the bulb holder there is 1 screw that secures it, remove the holder. Now actuate the lifter lever, you'll see where it is attached to. It has a small screw that holds it, it might have come off.

Pfaff serger stuck

your needle bar has been pushed up and is out of adjustment. You need to take off the side cover, there should be a screw on the back of your machine holding it on. Remove this screw, and remove the cover. You may have to remove the light assembly to reach the screw on the needle bar. Once you can see the needle bar, rotate the handwheel until you can see the screw on the needle bar. Loosen this screw SLIGHTLY until you can turn the needle bar. Hold and rotate the needle bar back and forth as you push down slightly. This will lower the bar.Lower it about 1/4 inch. Adjust the needles by turning the bar so that they are straight across. Tighten the needle bar screw so that the bar doesn't move. Turn the handwheel to see if the threads will be picked up. If not, adjust until they are. Tighten the needle bar screw tightly, reinstall the side cover ,and tighten the screw. Change your needles.Rethead and sew.
