General wire

It could be a melted light switch due to poor contact causing high resistance and heat at the connector.
A melted plug and terminals would require replacement of the switch and the "Pigtail" plug with new wires that need to be soldered in.

Light in ceiling fan burned out even after i changed bulb

probably burnt the electric feed wire off the light bulb socket. you will have 2 find the circuit breaker to the fan/light and turn the breaker off & then take the light section of the ceiling fan apart & look at the socket for a burnt off wire. you will need diagonal cutters to cut off the wire section with burnt insulation and wire strippers to stripe off the insulation, about 3/4 of an inch. you might be able to reconnect the wire to the light bulb socket if the socket has screw terminals but some sockets have solder terminals and require you to be able to solder the wire back on with an electric soldering gun, which cost between $12.00 to $ 30.00 you could see the cost of the tools at amazon.com
also need solder and soldering flux at radio shack, home depot
amazon.com or lowes.com
If you need to add an extra length of wire you can connect it with wire nus from home depot.
home depot sells books on lamp repair and on electrical repair or borrow the book from the library.amazon .com may even have used books on lamp repair and home electric repair for sale at 1/2 price or less.

Wiring diagram for a canal r series switch

There are several R series switches:
http://www.canal.com.tw/images/products/r.htm
Each appears to have terminal, or solder connections.
Electrician uses multimeter set to read ohms to check continuity of unknown switch.
Set to read ohms, and then test each terminal with other terminals, then flip the switch and repeat same test.
Then connect Hot wire to one terminal on the switch.
For example if there are two wires going to a 120Volt light bulb ... then one wire is Hot and the other Neutral. Cut the Hot wire and then connect the two cut ends to switch terminals. So the switch will turn the Hot wire on-and-off.
The neutral wire is not connected to the switch.

Hello Fixya.have a rfrigeretor Vestel (made in turkey). the terminal box (conected to the compressor) have been damage. need to know how to reconect again the wires to the plugs on the terminal. i'm...

The terminals of the compressor could have burnt and so depending on how the connections are damaged the points could be soldered or connected.
First of all clean the terminals properly , use a emery paper to clean the existng terminal part or the wires to the motor. Now use good wires to solder and connect to a ceramic terminal to which the wiring can be given.
make sure that the connections are insulated before the fridge is powered.
Tip:
Use good cleaning solution to wipe all dirt. Buy ceramic connection strip from any electrical store if the terminals are damaged.
Use a good soldering iron to connect the wires to the terminal.
The wires to the motor must be then connected to the terminal strip and strapped using a wire tie.

Wiring diagram for HP1501 using 6519867 switch Replacing old switch with 6519867. Different terminals from old one.Like to find a wiring diagram so I can install it... Thanks, Les

Makita doesn't furnish online schematics for replacement parts, BUT you can call their tech department and they should be able to send one as a PDF. Call them at 1-800-4625482. They do have one online for the original switch at "makitausa.com" but not the replacement. Let me know if you need more assistance.
