I had the same problem with my laptop. The help I received at the tech office was zero. Maybe you can buy a second hand pad with intact screen to fit. Techos will want you to buy a new pad.
i think the anti virus software is blocking the leappad connect software. go to antivirus settings, under firewall rules, select allow for leappad connect the launch it and try again.
you can actually but the problem is not by who or how but getting the replacement screen..
you can get the screen from Leap-pad, you need to call them and get on to sales..
now you have 2 choices, you can a.) buy the screen and have a local tech change it for you, or change it yourself.. (quite easy, open it up, unplug that screen, plug in the new one, reassemble.) yes it just jacks into the main board.
or you can send it into leap-pad to have them fix it for you..
I would recommend you decided which your more convenient and cheapest for you.
Cannot replace screen. Contact leap frog through the warranty. They have you deface the bad one and send a pic of it, then they mail you a brand new one
Likely, yes. call leapfrog, and ask. However, most warranties do not cover abuse or accidents. If your grandson did something or dropped it, the warranty will not cover that.
It sounds like your grandson found the "monochrome" setting in the menu on your remote. It may be in the "picture settings", "set-up" or "advanced" setting.
