How to replace gas vent on husqvarna 51
Disassembly
The fuel tank vent is located on the right side of the fuel
tank next to the right rear rubber element. With the fuel
tank empty and the fuel hose disconnected at the
carburetor, remove the two rear rubber elements. Separate the rear of the crankcase and the fuel tank enough to expose the fuel tank vent. Working through the fuel filler opening, grasp the fuel tank vent tube with a pair of needle nose pliers. Push the vent out the other side.
For access to the right side rubber elements, first remove the chain brake cover, bar, chain, chain catcher and cover plate.
For access to the left side rubber elements, remove the starter housing.
Assembly
Install the fuel tank vent using a drift the same diameter
as the vent tube. The remainder of assembly is the
reverse of disassembly.

You can find an answer to your question here:
HusqvarnaUSA.com
http://www.husqvarna.com/us/homeowner/support/download-manuals/
Uncheck "Manuals" check "Illustrated parts lists"
I think your answer is on detail "J"
pns 503 60 04-01 and 501 62 98-01.
All fuel system components can be found on these illustrations. I wish Husqvarna included nomenclatures but they don't. Your local Husky may be able to verify by telephone these are indeed your fuel vent.
Enter the 3 digit model number (no XPs, Es, just the numbers)
Serial number decode – for use with IPL
06 1500198
06 = year produced – 2006 (single digit before 2000)
15 = week produced - March
00198 = 198th unit Husky produced that week
It might be a good idea to save a copy of both your Manual and the IPL to your computer. HTH

SOURCE: need to know the ratio
Use a ratio of 50-1 with Husqvarna two stroke oil, with other two stroke oils they recommend a 25-1 mix as they do not know the quaility of other manufactureres two stroke oil, always try to use Husqvarna oil.

There seems to be confusion on some sites between the fuel feed tube and the fuel tank vent, they are different. The fuel tube feeds fuel to the carburettor from the tank, it has a filter on the end inside the tank. to renew the tube;
Empty the tank! Disconnect the tube from the carburettor, super glue a new tube onto this end of the old one ( use a bit a plastic rod, or the like to just fit inside both ends), a spot of oil on tube, then it pulls through into the tank as you pull the old one out. Cut off the join then refit the filter, best to use a new filter. Cut tube to length and refit on Carb stub.
The fuel vent line is a plastic pipe, visible from the inside at the top(handle end) of the tank. It is a push fit on my 51. There is a little, two screw, plate on the outside at other side of the saw remove it and to the side of it, down the deep hole is the vent. A Husqvarna kit is a plastic pipe and a little white porous vent plug( BEWARE VERY SMALL ) THIS CAN EVEN FALL OUT IN GENERAL USE LEADING TO FUEL SPILLAGE WHEN FILLING! Carefully press home the new one, with its white plug fitted.
