Need manual, not working, light stays on, no fan, cannot turn light off with remote
SOURCE: I need the default code for a hampton bay fan
I checked the hampton bay site and unfortunately whatever dip switch setting on the fan is, the remote needs to be matched to it. better get out the ladder!

There is a 4 position (dip) switch on both the fan housing and the remote. Make sure these switches are set exactly the same and the remote will control the light and fan separately. If not, the remote may be getting interference on the preset frequency - try CHANGING the dip switches to a different setting and the remote should work.
SOURCE: Have a Hampton Bay ceiling fan that doesn't work.
I'm pretty sure that home depot does sell remotes for that brand, although you may have to buy a new receiver to go with it. Otherwise try a lighting store near where you live. They seem to be able to order things like that.
