Faucets A wash tub in my porch has sprang 2 leaks. One is when faucets are shut off, it drips heavily and the other leak is where the bolt on one side is next to a little bit of grooves prior to being in center of where the actual faucet is. I am not the person who mostly uses this tub, but do have to pay for it. Just want to know what I am dealing with. I do not know product mame, but is rather old. Was here when I moved here.

SOURCE: dripping faucet

Take a cloth and lay over the top of the stem so as not to damage it. With pliers, grasp the top of the stem and turn it a quarter turn counter clockwise. The stem should lift right out.

Dripping facet

If a faucet is leaking the necessary repair will be either:
1. For a ceramic or washerless faucet, replace the cartridge.
2. For a typical old fashioned faucet, open the faucet, replace the washer (and packing if it has any) and verify that the faucet seat has not eroded.
The newer washerless faucets cannot be repaired except by replacing the cartridge. Cartridges for most common faucets are available at most home improvement stores or plumbing supply houses.
It sounds a lot more difficult than it really is, just shut off the water (usually a shut off valve under the sink). After the water is off, remove the handle and any chrome protective covering. Depending on the faucet type, it may be a little difficult to remove the cartridge since they are often covered with mineral build-up or corroded into place.
Once you remove the old cartridge the new one usually goes into place easily.
NOTE!!!
For single handle faucets, make sure you put it in the right way, some of them will put the hot to the wrong side if you put them together backward.

I have 5 of these faucets in my home that was built only 2 years ago. All of these faucets leak from the spout. I have replaced cartridges and they still leak.

Did you replace the seats and springs under the cartridges, Delta part number RP4993. These are the more important parts to replace when your Delta faucet is dripping from the spout.

Drips

For dripping faucets and valves. You either have to replace it or change the valve gaskets.
1. Close the main water valve.
2. Then, you can do the replacement of valves, or
repairing the faucet by replacement of gaskets.
3. After you have done the replacements and repairs,
you may open the main water valve.
4. If there are no more leaks, then, job well done.

The main faucet is leaking-when I use the sep. handle the faucet still leaks. Is a problem with a seal in the faucet or could it be a problem with the handle to shut it off?

if it leaking around the base of the spout...it would be spout o-rings....if it is dripping from the aerator then it is the seat and springs in the handle.

Leaking faucet

The faucet is slowing wearing out. You can live with this little drip or have a repair kit installed in the faucet. If you are handy you can do this yourself.
You must be sure to get the repair kit that matches your faucet. good luck

Water dripping into tub

One of your water solenoid valves are either going bad or stuck open with a little sediment. Find out which is leaking by turning off one of the water lines to the washer. If after it is turned off it still leaks try turning the first water valve back on the turn the other water valve off. This will help you determine which solenoid valve is having the problem. Once identified it is easily replaced.
