SOURCE: ipod nano 8GB 3rd generation FROZEN!

Try resetting the ipod while its connected to the computer by holding both the menu and center button at the same time for 6-10 seconds until you see an apple appear on the screen. You may need to repeat the reset. If this fails your looking at a hardware issue most likely. Good Luck.

SOURCE: Ipod is stuck on itunes logo.

  • Hold down Select / Menu (to reboot the iPod)
  • As soon as the Apple logo appears, hold down Rewind / Select until...
  • ...you see a backwards Apple Logo.
  • At this point, you will have entered Diagnostic Mode. It'll test the RAM, and then tell you to HIT PLAY TO CONTINUE. Hit 'Play'.
  • You'll be in a menu that you advance by hitting FF (Fast Forward). Advance to the 'DISKMODE' entry.
  • Hit 'Select.' This will put you into Firewire Disk mode. The screen should change to the familiar 'Do Not Disconnect' mode. At this point, connect it to the computer.
  • Run the restore utility; it should now recognize the iPod and offer to Restore the factory software. Do so. You'll lose whatever's on it, but you'll avoid having to send it back in to Apple and pay them $49 or whatever to do basically the same thing. :-)

IPOD is diabled cant conect to itunes

Hi, can really say much about your problem now. I think i can help out.
First might not know if you connected it properly with the iTunes .

All i can do is togive you the right steps to connect iPod touch with iTunes. Hope that will help.

Below are the steps to use iPod with iTunes.

How to Use iTunes With an iPod

Using iTunes with an iPod is not difficult since iTunes are designed for iPods. Your iPod can use iTunes as well as other MP3 files with ease. Below is a list of steps to help you use iTunes with an iPod.
    Instructions

Turn on your computer and open your iTunes program.
Now connect your iPod with your FireWire. You should have received a compatible cord for connecting your computer to your iPod when you purchased it. Connect the cord to your iPod and then connect it to a USB port on your computer.

Use the "Set Up Assistant" to enter in a name for your iPod and select "Automatic Update" option if you want to put all of your songs on to your iPod. "Automatic Update" will allow you to update your iPod easily every time you add songs to iTunes.

Click on "Register" your iPod and enter in your product information on the iTunes Web site.

Click on "Done," which is located at the bottom of the box, and you will receive a message saying that your iPod is being updated.

When the update is finished, click on the "Eject iPod" button on the bottom of the page. You will be instructed to remove the iPod when it is safe to do so.

Unplug the FireWire from your computer first and then disconnect the wire from your iPod carefully.

    Tips & Warnings

Choose "Manual" if you do not want all of your iTunes songs on your iPod. If you use
manual you can select which songs you want to transfer.

Your iPod will automatically update after linking for the first time.

In "Automatic Update" mode, you cannot edit your songs on your iPod.

Make sure you have enough memory on your iPod.

    Have a nice day.

Turn the i pod on and theres a picture of i tuness on it and the charge cable and its locked ive turned the power off and on and keeps repeating the same problem

That icon is telling you that you need to sync the ipod with your computer.  Download itunes on your computer.  Open up itunes.  Now take the USB cord and plug it in your USB port on your computer.  Take the other end and plug it into the ipod.  A screen on your computer should show up to prompt you to set up the ipod touch.  Just follow the screen instructions.

The iPod is prompting you to sync it with iTunes or to charge it. By plugging it into you computer and opening iTunes, this should do both steps at once and the icon will go away.

    My ipod wont charge....nor reset

    here's what to do....

    How to restore iPod
    1. Ensure that you have an active Internet connection as new versions of iTunes and iPod Software may need to be downloaded to your computer.
    2. Download and install the latest version of iTunes if you do not already have it installed.
    3. Open iTunes, and then connect your iPod to your computer using the USB or FireWire cable that came with your iPod.
    4. After a few moments, your iPod will appear in the Source panel in iTunes.
    5. Select your iPod in the Source panel and you will see information about your iPod appear in the Summary tab of the main iTunes windows.
    6. Click the Restore button. You will be prompted with one or more restore options that may prompt iTunes to automatically download the latest iPod Software. The 4 possible restore options are:
      • Restore Option 1: Restore - Restores with same iPod Software version already on iPod.
      • Restore Option 2: Use Same Version - Restores with same iPod Software version already on iPod even though a newer version is available.
      • Restore Option 3: Use Newest Version - Restores with the latest iPod Software available.
      • Restore Option 4: Restore and Update - Restores with the latest iPod Software available.
    7. If you are using a Mac, a message will appear prompting you to enter an administrator’s name and password.
    8. A progress bar will appear on the computer screen indicating that the first stage of the restore process has started. When this stage is completed, iTunes will present one of two messages on screen with instructions specific to the iPod model you are restoring.
      • Restore Instruction 1: Disconnect iPod and connect it to iPod Power Adapter (typically applies to older iPod models).
      • Restore Instruction 2: Leave iPod connected to computer to complete restore (typically applies newer iPod models).
    9. During the stage 2 of the restore process, the iPod will show an Apple logo as well as a progress bar at the bottom of the display. It is critical that the iPod remains connected to the computer or iPod Power adapter during this stage. Note: The progress bar may be difficult to see since the backlight on the iPod display may be off.
    10. After stage 2 of the restore process is complete and the iPod is connected to the computer, the iTunes Setup Assistant window will appear asking you to name your iPod and choose your syncing preferences similar to when you connected your iPod for the first time.

    Ipod Touch 8gb problems

    Hi K,

Ahhh, everything has suddenly become very clear :) All is well and there is nothing wrong with your ipod. Heres what you need to do.
    • First, install the very latest version of iTunes onto your PC or Mac - Download it from http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Tip: Uncheck the two boxes and don't enter your email address
    • Once that's installed, start iTunes up and connect your iPod to the computer via a USB2 port (any on a laptop but not through a hub; on a PC tower use only one of the USB ports on the rear of the machine, ie, none of the ports on the front) - It's gonna need charging (That's what the Batt symbol is showing) so leave it for a good 2hrs.
    • While it's charging I'd recommend spending some time familiarizing yourself with the user guide - it explains alot of these symbols and more importantly how to get started with your new iPod. You can download the manual from here: http://support.apple.com/manuals/#ipodtouch
    • When it's good and charged then follow the onscreen instructions for the iPod on iTunes. You have to register the iPod first before you can use it. So once you've done this all will be well in the world for you. See page 5 and 6 of the manual.
    All the best
