A. If blade teeth are broken or damaged you might find teeth plate repacement. B. If teeth are not damaged, check adjustment screws.C. If you have used it for a long time,it is not sharp anymore and there is not a reliable way to sharpen the teeth realy and you need to replace the teeth plate. But keep in might parts are not cheap and you might be better off buying a new one.

If the clippers stopped cutting, they are probably clogged with hair on the inside of the clippers. I had two pairs of clippers where this happened. I took them to be serviced at a beauty supply store and they cleaned the hair from the inside of both pairs of clippers for me and they now work just fine.

If your blades are not broken and the motor runs when you, also try putting some oil on the blades

  • Karam Jul 23, 2014

Add a CommentIf your blades are not broken and the motor runs when you turn the clippers on, just try putting a few drops of oil on the blades. If the motor runs, the oil will cause the blades to move normally.

Wahl clippers

Teresa you lost the guide?! You cannot afford to buy a new one at $22-29 dollars! They are OLD?! Guess what? You just answered your own question. Go to WalMart, Break down and buy new ones. Don't take them apart unless your seated and have a magnet near you! By the way a New Guide will cost you $12 dollars with a blade. They come in sets only. So $12 old one $22 new one? Duh I wonder what I will do?

My conair straightener won't heat up

that same thing is happening to me! but iv had mine for almost 2 years...exact same hair straightener, its happening to many people! i dont know if this is the problem but alot of people wrap their cords around their straighteners (i did too) and it twists the cord that conects to the hair straightener and makes it loose. i still have not found a way to solve this problem.

i would just go out and buy a new one, and if your looking for good but inexpensive i suggest vidal sassoon. they get really hot and have many settings and many different types. mine has worked greats

just remember not to wrap the cord

Straightener not working!!!!

It sounds to me like the thermal cutoff switch has blown. Straighteners have these as a safety device similar to a fuse to protect against fire in the event it gets too hot. These are not very costly to replace. Here is a link to where you can buy them and what they look like:

http://www.welco.com.cn/?gclid=CJiWv7TN2ZQCFQpzHgodl1LXQQ

Make sure you get one of the exact same cutoff point as the one designed for yours. If you put in a higher temp device it will be harder to blow but will make it dangerous as it may cause a fire if it over heats. Some shady repair men will just bypass this and it will work again fine but this is a dangerous practice as it directly puts you of danger. If you do have it repaired at a shop demand for the old thermal cutoff from your unit when you drop it off so the tech will know you know what is wrong with it and that you will check to make sure that it has really been changed. This will also not give him the chance to over charge you when he knows you know it is only a 1 dollar part and easy to change.
This device is very easy to change, If you can open your unit you could easily do this yourself. The part, as you will see on the site where you buy them, only has 2 wires one coming out of each end. You simply cut out the old 1 and replace it with the new one. You do not even have to worry which end goes where. It is like a fuse, it works the same either direction. You have to buy some wire crimp connector to connect it, you can not just solder it in due to the heat in the iron. In a pinch you could just securely twist the ends of the leads with the leads from the old cutoff if you clip the leads from the old cutoff real close to the device. This will leave you with plenty of wire to get a good twist. I always use the crimp connectors so it looks more professional.
Anyway, I hope you found this to be helpful and if you need more help feel free to ask me. I will stay with you on this until we have it fixed.
