Flip image on Hitachi CP S240

The setting you are looking for is called mirror. If you go into your menu, you should be able to find it. I'm not fmailiar with that exact model, but Hitachi is very good about keeping their projectors consistent where the menu/options are concerned. Once you find the mirror section, cycle through the options (there will be 3 or 4) until you find the one you need. If your projector is hanging upside down from the ceiling, select the ceiling option.

The color on our cp-s240 projector is really bad. When I go to menu, color and tint are greyed out so I cannot adjust them, what should I do?

Often you will see that you have lots of options in your menu that appear grayed out. This occurs when you do not have an input device connected to your projector.

In order to have access to all the menu options, simply connect an input device (TV,DVD player, computer, etc) to your data projector and start the projector.

Assuming everything works properly, if the projector starts receiving a signal, you will have all your menu options available.

I'd also note that image discoloration can also be caused from defective/damaged cabling, cables not being connected fully, bent pins depending on the type of cables you are using, and also for internal problems. If you can not adjust your settings to achieve satisfactory color, check your cables for damage and make sure they are all connected properly.

Hitachi cp-s240 remote question

Hitachi data projectors are able to function as a mouse using either the USB port or the control port located on the back of the projector.

However, they are not intended to be used as a remote presenter. This means that although you can use the remote as a mouse, you will not be able to change slides in a full screen slide show using powerpoint.

I recommend the Targus remote presenter for this purpose. This device will function as a mouse, pointing device, and will allow you to change slides in powerpoint. In addition, it's inexpensive, wireless, and small enough to easily fit in your pocket.

Hitachi cp-s240 blue tint cloud problem

This might sound like a worn spot in the (blue) lens from heat, or a bad color driver on the mother board. It could possibly be dirt or condensation behine the lens(s)

Locate filter

The air filter for the Hitachi CP-S240 is located below the lens if the projector is sitting flat on a surface.

There will be a plastic cover that slides off by pulling it towards the front of the machine. Inside this cover you'll find the filter.

To clean it, simply pull the filter out of the cover or housing and blow the dust out of it. Replace the filter and the cover, and then make sure to go into your menu and reset the filter timer.

Using the computer monitor and the projector at the same time?

I kind of have a solution for you. I know you need a splitter cable. You might want to go to Radio Shack or your local geek store or the manufacturer of the desktop and see what they have as far as accessories.
Or
Get yourself a laptop and run the projector from that, All you have to do then is hold down the FN key while pressing (depending on the make and model) F3 or F7. I use two differant laptops and those are the keys I use. I hope that I helped.
