SOURCE: washer wont drain

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Dishwasher not draining properly or not draining at all issues can arise due to different reasons. Usually, these issues are related to kinked hoses, knocked out disposer unit (if connected with the dishwasher drain hose) & clogged drain pump & filter.

Also note that dishwashers do not drain completely after a finished cycle and this is normal. Dishwashers are designed to leave some water in the unit to ensure that the heating element doesn’t overheat. If you suddenly begin to experience a large amount of water being retained in your dishwasher, you have a problem. Some of the most common reasons include that the drain hose isn’t working properly, the drain pump isn’t working correctly, or possibly there is a plumbing problem in your home’s drain lines.

First check whether the drain is not clogged or blocked and the line is not kinked. Check all the hoses for blockages & also clean the air gap. Has the disposer been replaced recently? If so, chances are the knockout is still in place. Simply remove the drain hose from the disposer, and knock out the plug. If the disposer has not been replaced, try removing the drain hose from the disposer and use a wet-dry vacuum (prepared for water, of course) to **** any water (and hopefully anything else) from the drain line. Then reconnect the hose, and test the unit. If you have checked the air gap and the drain hose and can’t locate the problem, then it is an issue with the drain pump of the dishwasher.

Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Rylee

The drum doesn't want to vibrate

If the washer won't agitate or spin, then the stator or rotor assemblies at the back of the washer tub might be bad or damaged. The rotor is essentially one half of a motor, it interacts with the tub by creating a strong electro-magnet. If the rotor fails or is damaged the washer might not spin or agitate. Check the rotor for damaged magnets or other defects

Washer wont spin code e57

High current issue - 1. Remove the belt from the motor and spin the motor pulley. Does the motor spin free? No, replace the motor. Yes, go to step (3). 2. Spin the tub pulley. Does the tub spin free? No, check the tub bearings. Yes, go to step (3). 3. Disconnect the plug from the motor and measure the resistance of the windings (pin 1 to 2, pin 1 to 3, pin 2 to 3). All readings should be between 4 and 6 ohms. If readings are correct, replace the Speed Control Board. If readings are incorrect, replace the motor.

Kenmore heavy duty washer wont spin but does everything else corr

you really still have a belt model? that unit is close to 30 years old now.
anyway if the unit looks like all is moving, then you may have a bad lid switch or most likely an open coil on the wig wag assembly.
it is the part the has 2 coils on a metal bracket on top of the transmission. it moves back and forth when the unit is running.
does it drain but just not spin? if so then you could just have a broken wire to the wig wag or the coil could be bad. wires do break to the wig wag , but you usually hear the coils engaging then shutting off if the wires are bad. so check the coils and try to replace the wig wag second if you dont find a bad wire.
