Murdo's tip to trim off the cover of the AA battery base to expose a few mm of metal is spot on. Replacement rechargeable batteries for my Thomson wireless headphones did not charge, no green light, utterly frustrating, till I read Murdho's suggestion. Thanks for that
check the input to the base unit, and check the volume control on the headset..also put new batteries in the headset.Mine are a rechargeable type and are useless.BUT dont put headset back on charging stand with ordinary batteries in
I the red led only comes on dimly, the new batteries are suspect, or they are not charged. You need to establish if its the headphones or the batteries at fault. To check the headphones remove the batteries and connect up some none rechargeable battery of the same voltage to the headphone battery connections. To check the batteries use a multimeter to measure the voltage at their terminals while they are out of the headphones. If its low compared to the value printed on them, you can either try more new batteries again, or replace the headphones completely.
I have the MDR-RF970R but I bet the battery is the same. If you have had the headphone for seceral years then I bet you are right, the battery is going. You might try using them till the battery dies and then recharge. This is called deep cycle and may time it will extend the life of rechargables.
If the headphones are new, then just check and make sure that they going all the way into the charge slot.
I will say it is not common for me to see the light off, but I use the headphones all the time.
You are plugging the headphones into the unit and then trying to power up the unit, correct? The Aquabeat will not power up unless the headphones are connected to the unit and disconnecting them will shut the unit off.
I'm having the same problem with the RS140. Only a few weeks old, and no sound at all coming out (not even the beeps). Have replaced batteries and tried a different audio source. Base station lights are on and indicating it is receiving an audio signal, but nothing is going go the headphones.
Your headphone mic is all right. The problem is with the sound driver you are using. Many a time the headphone jack are not properly connected so it may be another issue for not working of your headphone. Your operating system is all right check out the sound driver setting from the control panel. Good Luck
